Do you know what email account you registered it with. I would just enter the domain name in your search mail box and see if anything comes up.

Enter the domain in Domain Tools:

Whois lookup and Domain name search

Scroll down to ICANN Registrar section and it list the registrar Go Daddy or whomever you used.

Hiting a whois should work, but as stated above, just do a search in your mail for "domain" . It should pop in , if you hadnt delete it.

Yeah, the whois search will tell you. Don't feel dumb. I've done that more than once.

I just want to chime in and say don't feel dumb.

One time I was looking for a domain name, came up with the PERFECT name... and was crestfallen to see it was taken. Went to the site to see if they were doing anything with it. Nope, it was just parked. So went to whois to see if maybe a flash of cash would make them consider parting with the name. and then...

    D'oh.

I found out I owned it.

    D'oh again.

    Cheers,
    Becky

This gave me a good chuckle.

Back when I first started with my making money online adventure, I bought up 3 domains that I thought were going to be goldmines. Then, demonstrating the forgetfulness and easily distracted-ness of my typical teenage self, I forgot about them for about 10 months until I started looking into domaining again. I had these 3 domains written down on a note on my desk, but had no idea what they were to.

So, thinking I had wrote these sites down so I may visit them later, I typed the first one in my address bar, pressed enter, came across a lycos landing page, and gave myself a good slap.

Well, ok. I didn't slap myself.

C'mon, Kim... I spend enough time arguing with myself without starting up bare knuckle financial negotiations!

Glad to hear you got it sorted out, Steve.

BTW, just a general tip to anyone else reading this -- it's useful to register domains at those registrars that:

        1) Allow you to set the option for auto-renew, and
        2) start sending you renewal notices well before the domain is due for renewal.

That way if you forget about a domain and don't want to lose it, you won't. But if you'd rather just cancel it, you can do that too if you know the renewal is coming up.

        Cheers,
        Becky

Bet you're glad it was you, at least that money went right back into your pocket instead of someone else.
