I have a new social network bongal.com. I really want a nice simple Wikipedia page but mine keep getting thrown out. Any ideas or any people that can do me one?

Make sure you read the Wikipedia FAQ on why pages are deleted. The purpose of Wikipedia isn't to provide backlinks and generally your page will be deleted if it's seen as self promotion of your site.

Are there any people that do it as a service?

You need to check the Wikipedia policy on posting the articles about the sites.
      On top of my head:

      - there should be a set of mentions of the website in some trusted sources (famous news agencies etc)
      - if it is a SN then the number of members should be significant - nowadays it means millions.

Also when the page is marked for deletion it usually goes though some discussion on the reasons why it should be deleted.

Wikipedia is not a commercial project and many people will try to reject the articles that they consider "insignificant" or posted with marketing purposes.

It is not that I think that your site is bad. Looks nice.

Do not simply add your website to wikipedia; it will get speedy deleted. Generally, don't add stuff you've created at all. Let someone else add it. For your specific website, the site is not noteworthy. It does not warrant a page on Wikipedia. If at some point in the future it does warrant a page, someone will make it. But I checked your site and researched it for a few minutes and can tell you with 100% certainty that it does not warrant a page.

I have been editing wikipedia for a few years now and have been granted status for autopatroller, reviewer, and rollback.

Here is the relevant guideline to review: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikiped...lity_%28web%29

I think even to backdoor into Wikipedia by getting a listing about yourself (i.e. CEO bio), you would need to 1) have some notable contributions (i.e. public speaking, a history of making news in your industry, etc) and 2) have someone else add the article.

don't concentrate so much on wiki. its an informative site but it does not help in indexing or back linking. submit snippets of your site to article based websites and you'll acquire decent exposure

You don't. I mean you will NOT find any responsible wiki-editor/contributor who would risk their position and reputation to post a spam page.

FYI: I also used to be a contributor to wiki in another language and we always deleted "promotional" pages.

Wikipedia is not for getting backlinks and self-promotion. Which part is so difficult to understand?

Just to be clear I dont want back links or to spam Wiki I simply want to add my site to a list of social networks and add a little detail about it.

Let's get back to the basics...

What is Wikipedia? - An online encyclopedia; i.e. a reference work (often in several volumes) containing articles on various topics (often arranged in alphabetical order) dealing with the entire range of human knowledge or with some particular specialty - a book to which you can refer for authoritative facts.

Now, before the online wiki... there was the "authoritative" Encyclopedia Britannica, for example. I can't really imagine casual webmasters and IMers asking EB editors to add their little work to the "human knowledge" assembled in those toms.

Why would anybody think it is different with an online encyclopedia...?

Let's face it: our little websites are NOT important enough to deserve a page in any encyclopedia :p
