New product, when should I search for affiliates?

So,

I'm new and I'm almost done with completion of my website. It's a sales letter site and I'm selling an eBook in the Home Computer Business/Work from home niche. My main question right now is how to start off?

I have read plenty of articles that say I should wait until my site reaches 3% conversion rate or so before I start to look for affiliates.

I have read other articles that say to just start looking for affiliates right away.

I'm looking to you guys for the advice here. What would you suggest?

I'd start looking before the product is launched, if you have a track record and can demonstrate you know what you're doing.

If you can show that, for example, the last product you launched has a conversion rate of X%, then the affiliates with actual selling power will be more likely to work with you.

Don't forget to make it easy for them with ready made email templates, banners and extra bonuses.

EDIT: Just saw that you said you're new.

I'd also give potential affiliates review copies so they know exactly what they are promoting first.

    Good luck.

Always look for affiliates and recruit as many as you can. Most of them won't do anything. You're looking for the few out of several hundred that will really go to work for you.
