    1) Awesome content (hobby stuff not IM)
    2) Link to awesome content on niche forum
    3) Give awesome content away for free
    4) Adsense check once a month
    5) Repeat...

Actually I earned my first real dollars online by providing micro-jobs. Simple and easy task with residual income.

    Cheers!

Yup, almost instantly by offering a service.

Under a month via Amazon, also. Easily done.

    Hello,

Yeah, I was lucky enough to make some money from the very first month I've started offering something.

I was working on 'offline bpo business' (end of 2007) and wanted to increase the visitors (to sell offline bpo jobs/packages) -> conversion -> and sales. Didn't have any idea how to do it (talking about 2008 . I was/am a programmer - had no idea about internet marketing or SEO, then). Started learning things and tried what I learned to my own website - it did well. So planned to offer the stuff I'm experienced as a service. Started with Digital Point offering cheap services like bulk (multiple users) forum posting (I was lucky enough to find hundreds of people who were not making any money at all - I just got some good orders and paid much less to those who actually did the job) and web 2.0 content creation.

From the very first month, I started to get 60-100$. No kidding! My first paypal payment was of 2$

I can say that I was a hard worker. I was sincere with my works and got to know many good people like from digital point. Started to work with them and it helped me learn A LOT.

Today I own a PR firm, an SMM firm and many small services. Remember - I started with ZERO knowledge and NO INVESTMENT.

Simply put your time and efforts - work hard (at least in the beginning) stay focused and be sincere. That's it

Good advice. Services are a good/fast way to start up. Do the work, make money, then reinvest in additional help to scale up your efforts.

Long term strategy: Learn a good skill that is in demand, yet tough to master. Like for example Objective C, the language used to build iPhone/iPad apps. I heard that the going rate is in the 1,000's for an app here in the US. I'm not talking about an Angry Birds type app, but simpler stuff.

Just some thoughts off the top of my head. Hope they helped.

Whatever you pick, make sure it's not just quick money in the first month but leads to consistent money month after month. You can do this by offering services, affiliate marketing, creating your products and a number of other ways.

Pick one method that suits your personality best and stick with it.

    Good luck

I created a "FREE 3-Day Twitter Mastery Bootcamp" that all pointed to an affiliate program of mine and within 1.5 weeks, I made my first sale!

(Not to mention I increased my list!)

Remember to ALWAYS provide value. Because THAT is what will brand you as a leader and make people buy.

    55,

    My cat started sneezing.

I found a natural cure with 25% 1st level payout affiliate program and 2nd tier 5% affiliate setup.

I wrote three articles and put them on EZA.

Three weeks later I had forgotten them, and I checked it to see I made three sales on March 17, 2010.

That was when the light-bulb went off!

I used to do bum marketing where I would use EzineArticles to rank high for keyword phrases and then directly link (via redirect) to my clickbank affiliate page.

I don't think bum marketing is as effective as it is now unless you focus on physical product keywords and categories as there are so many variations and no sign of them being close to being saturated.

$0.31 in 6 days on a new site hehe... picked a bad niche, very low CPC and even the physical products are quite cheap to begin with... Still, it was just a practice site... Gradually increasing visits so far, up to about 14 a day now LOL...

Provide a service or look for freelancing jobs.
Look on forums for marketers that need things done such as articles written, design work doing, websites built etc
Offer your gigs on fiverr but be imaginative! Look on other micro job sites.
Apply for jobs on Odesk and elance.
By doing services for other people or working for marketers you build cash and get an inside into how things work.
My first job was writing and blogging for an SEO marketer so I learnt about keywords and where to put them. It was a very valuable experience for me.
    Hope this helps

I earned my first dollars through article marketing and putting up Squidoo lenses.

Never earned much and it soon died away.

I've heard a few people mention Fiverr now. Offering services on there might be a good way for people to get some quick cash??

I initially made money in less than a month by writing articles which were posted to Ezinearticles and which referred to my squeeze page. This page then lead to an affiliate page. I was selling Clickbank products and made a few hundred dollars relatively quickly.

I have since moved on to content creation because I see this as a strong need on the Internet. I like to provide a service which people need rather than peddling information that people can typically find for free.

I started in the warrior for hire section providing web design and graphics services - (still do it even today coz i still enjoy it)

Here's my suggestions if you go this route (which i highly recommend if you are looking to start making money online - also keep in mind you don't have to keep doing it, but it's a good way to get started):

    - Will cost you $20 to post but you should make that money back in the first few jobs
    - Write a decent pitch for your services and provide examples
    - If you are starting out definitely provide review copies so you can get some testimonials
    - You need genuine testimonials asap because it shows you are trusted by others and won't run off with the money
    - You need to post at the right time
    - If you do a good service you will build up a good client base which will soon become your bread and butter clients
    - NOTE: This is one thing many don't realise about providing services, but it gives you a good opportunity to network with others in the same industry as you, which to me is a definite side bonus
    - Watch your competition and stand out from them in some way e.g faster turnaround times, better quality service, deliver more than your competition will etc.
    - Warriors expect lower than usual prices BUT don't let it discourage you, as you can always provide a 'platinum level' service that comes at a high price - and there are always people willing to pay for it because some people understand the value of good quality sh** - just make sure that that is what you are delivering.
    - Give a guarantee of some kind - mine is a 24 hour turnaround
    - Longevity is the game - but this applies to pretty much every field of internet marketing
    - Note - if you don't want to work then don't do it, but then you probably shouldn't be doing IM either if that's your attitude - i'm sure it isn't though

I re-invest the profits to outsource seo, article writing and to some degree programming for my other projects such as amazon affiliate sites, my own products and offline marketing.

Your best bet is to start out with a service based business. There's alot of people who don't know how to do anything and that's where you can provide the solution.

Also many better earning IMers have harnessed the concept of outsourcing and would prefer to pay you for your time then to waste their own, as most have calculated their own hourly rate which is often in the 3-5 figure range. Better to pay you 2 hours worth to write an article for $10 than to spend their own 2 hours clocked at $97 each to do the same thing - a decent $10 article vs an average $194 article - hmm i wonder which they'd rather spend their money on.

I'm still in the midst of my first month (started right around 7/01/2011) and have made just over $50 so far with Adsense. I have yet to employ any other form on monetization yet, as I feel my product is not yet refined.

Ya work your arse off going for free traffic with a proven affiliate program. That's one method and it's how I made my first dollars and my efforts a few years ago still bring me some passive income, today.

Whenever I've been in a bind I've always looked to offering services here or elsewhere to bring in some quick money. The best way is when you can get quick money straight to your paypal by offering your own service on here or another forum and get payments instantly, rather than by waiting a while for the money such as with Fiverr.

I made nothing my first year online, but there is a reason. I sat on my fat arse doing nothing. How can you expect to make money when you are screwing around down the beach all day. That is what I did. I said I will do it tomorrow...and tomorrow never came!

I am sure people in here know what I am talking about.

But kudos for you for taking action. YOu know belong to the 2% of people that actually do do this. Action takers are few and far between, but I suggest you keep going while you have had your taste of sweet success. Use it to drive you harder and reinvest your money back into your business.
