I'm Pissed By These Digital Product Thieves

Fellow warriors,

Today when I logged into my account here, I saw one Unread message in the message box and guess what:

It was from a NON-Warrior, I mean the status of sender was GUEST. In plain words it was SPAM. I really don't know as to how a sender with Guest status can post a PM to a warrior member?

I mean this sort of a thing should be banned altogether since they are not part of the community as such.

Now coming to the message itself

It basically had a link to a website where several high end digital products are available for immediate access for a small monthly membership fee of $17.

When I say "high end", I mean products which are selling for close to $2000 at the merchant's site and in the WSO section here.

This is a direct quote from their "About Us" section:

"We are internet marketers. We collect all kind of internet marketing tools and ebook with the help of GG(google). Now we just want to share the items with you. We have spent alot of time and effort to find them out. So now, this website is a membership site. You can download all the files in the VIP section when you register successfully which can save you alot of money...And more, we are still working on searching the latest products. You will see our effort come out with huge benefit for you."

They actually have a "WSO Product" section where they are giving away the best WSO's for a fee.

Now I'm really pissed off with this!
These guys are taking the hard work of so many internet marketers and warriors alike and scamming them out of their products.

Is there any solution to stop these Digital Thieves?

In my view, since they have clearly mentioned that they collected these products from Google (By Google Hacking in technical terms), there is a need to teach warriors (and Internet Marketers in general) on how to protect their products when they are storing them on their server using the ROBOTX file.

These sort of instructions might be added when someone is selling a WSO and creates an additional file for download containing all the instructions (with screenshots) on how to modify the Robots file so that their product is not spidered by Google while stored on their server.

Your thoughts......

I know the digital thieves you're talking about, Bhupinder.
They/he is from the "other " forum

used to spam my inbox all the time there.

      About the robots text file...

      here's how you do it:
      open up "Notepad"

      on the first line type:

      User-agent: *

then on each separate line type:

      Disallow: /your-directory/

just add all the directories on each line that you don't want the Search engines to index or follow

then save the file as robots.txt and upload it into your public_html or wherever the root directory of your web server is.

if any of the directories contain web pages that you don't want indexed

add this meta tag in between the <head> </head>tags of your HTML or XHTML page :
      <meta name="robots" content="noindex, nofollow" />

Is this not Normal? I mean a person with GUEST status (And NO post) can send messages to Warriors here? OR Am I missing something!

I opened the same PM shortly after it arrived and the spammer had posts. Today the same message shows n/a posts and "Guest" status. I suspect that's a sign that the individual and all his posts were deleted from WF before you read the message.

Somehow I am not surprised. I am running a list building event right now and someone took the time to sign up with 100 mail.com accounts so they could win the referral contest. LOL...

    I disqualified them.

You should PM the moderator and send them a copy of the content.

Thanks for the great Info Karen..

I believe this problem of digital stealing can be solved by the "inside out" approach of product owners giving detailed information as to how the buyer can store their products on their server in a secure and "un-spiderable" way so that the quality of product is maintained especially in cases such as PLR Products.

Many of the people who are adding to this problem are actual buyers of your product, that, after purchasing, then upload the program/e-book/etc...onto Torrent sites, where they are shared freely with their members.

Although the No Follow/Don't Index instructions may help with the Google Pirating, these scammers only have to download the program from Torrents, and they are still in business.

    Good point ADAM,
But atleast by educating the people about usage of Robots.txt file, we can bandage the situation if not heal it completely.
I'm sure some buyers are like that but surely not all of them.

This is the same guy who had my product listed. I had my page shut down by his ISP and I reported him to the FBI's Internet Fraud Complaint Center too.
