Seeking best WP Themes to go with BuddyPress

Hello fellow Warriors,

I currently have a premium WP installed and want to convert my basic membership blog to a community site using BuddyPress.

I love the set up of Tasty Kitchen: A Happy Recipe Community! but after contacting the owner I found out that the theme is custom and managed by a California based company.

Are there any experienced WP theme gurus on here that could advise me on a WP theme which is compatible with BuddyPress and is similar to TastyKitchen's?

Alternatively, do you have a BP community that you are proud of and can share with us what theme and plugins you're using?

    Hello,

    May be this will help - look at the themes from PageLines - Google the name to get to their site. They have great support and a lot of features that simplify the life of someone who doesn't want to dig in the code.

    Also they have a "designer" look to them and do not look amateur like the majority of the WP themes. Styling is pretty straightforward and you'll have your site up and running in a really short time period.

    Would ProfitsTheme work with Buddypress? I'm really hoping to use both of them together.
    Or could I use ProfitsTheme as my main domain / frontend, and a different them for the Buddypress areas?

    I've never been able to find a good theme for buddypress, so I just create my own themes then add in the buddypress code. If you google something like 'add buddypress to wordpress theme' there's a few different tutorials on how to do it. It's pretty easy if you have FTP and can edit theme files.
