Newsletter Optin VS Optin & Blog

Hey guys,

I'm working on making a site with maybe a blog but with definitely a squeeze page for list building..

The list will be my main focus.

It gonna be in the internet marketing niche. Would it be a good idea to have a blog with updates as well? or shall I just stick with the squeeze page that focusses on getting a growing list?

Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated

B

Its completely up to you, alot of marketers (big and small) do both blogging and growing their list. Check out their blogs and you will get an idea of how frequently they blog and how they balance the 2. Most integrate the 2, just have an optin form on your blog.

I am in the same niche as you are and I personally use my blog to drive traffic and build my list. (I made a Free Twitter Bootcamp 2 weeks ago and I average 1-3 opt-ins/day with it!)

Whatever you do, always make your web form visible on all your posts and home page. (I found that if you have a video right next to your web form at the top of all of your posts and home page, your optin rate will increase 7-fold if you drive traffic to your blog and post content consistently..

    Hope that helps!

It's always good to have as many "entry points" and "contact points" as possible.

When you create your email list message series, point your readers to the blog
whenever you have important updates or wish to expand on an email message.

Generally, the shorter the email message, the least likely it will be that it gets
hung up in spam filters. I keep my messages short and direct readers to my blogs
    to get the full story.
