Finding a niche and analysis paralysis?!?!? grrr

So I spent all day yesterday researching some KW in the weight loss niche. After finding a few good ones and talking to some people, I don't know if that's a niche I should be in right now.

Then I started thinking about things that I'm passionate about video games, music, and movies. But here's the thing I am clueless about drilling down for longer tail KW. Does anyone have any tips on how they find niches to get into, on topics that they're passionate about?

Does anyone know if the video game, music, or movie niche would be a good one for a noob to tackle?

I always see people on here suggesting to get into a niche that you like. I dont like a lot of stuff, and the stuff I did like was just not converting for me.

I went straight into a high competition niche just like the diet niche and havent looked back yet.

Thats just me though everyone if different.

I'm the same way! I'm not really into a whole lot and the things I am into, don't really look like they would convert for me. If you don't mind, I have a few questions for you:

      1. How well are you doing in your niche?
      2. How high is your competition?
      3. Is your diet niche your first and only site?

Sorry I'm a question asker:p Thank you for the response!

If you are into video games, start visiting forums that specialize in that niche.
Make note of any recurrent problems and issues voiced by other forum members.
You will find many of your keyword phrases in these type messages.

If you are particularly skilled at a specific video game, start searching for...

    "SPECIFIC VIDEO GAME" +forum
    "SPECIFIC VIDEO GAME" +"how to"
    "SPECIFIC VIDEO GAME" +tips

    1. Write some articles about your experiences with specific aspects of the game.
    2. Post the articles to your "SPECIFIC VIDEO GAME" blog.
    3. Create a short how-to guide about how to beat or master the game.
    4. Do the necessary marketing steps that will get people interested in the game
to your blog and forum postings.

    Most importantly - stay FOCUSED!

Staying focused means... start the project and don't quit until you succeed or
utterly fail. As an example, writing and posting one article, then quitting after
you don't get any sales, is not a focused approach!
