Internet Marketers Have No Motivation!

This is what someone said to me a few days ago when I was trying out a new method I learned on this forum. I had motivation, I just did not know if I believed in what I was doing at the moment. That is when it clicked, all motivation is is a short boost of confidence.

Motivation is a short boost of belief that will make you temporarily believe you can do something and this will push you into action. The problem is that it wears off quickly, motivation is like a fire, you have to keep on throwing a log of wood into it in order to keep it going.

That is why some people will get excited over a new method, try it out, and as soon as they don't see results they will stop. Their belief level goes down quickly, seeing results would be like throwing wood on the fire to keep it going until even better results were achieved.

This is why I once read sales letter for motivation, the sales letter would usually be better then the product I was buying. Was the person who made this statement to me right? At the time they just might have been, but now that I truly understand what that word means I can find ways to keep my motivation high until I start seeing the results I want.

Motivation is not about whether you believe you will succeed or not. You said yourself you didn't really believe it but could 'temporarily' get motivated.

Motivation comes naturally when you have a reason and care about what you're doing.

If you want to lose weight and someone gives you a diet plan you can completely believe it's possible but still have no motivation. If you're told you will die if you don't lose weight - you'll make ANY plan work.

I honestly believe motivation is more closely tied to attention span. It's definitely useful to be constantly reminded about why you're motivated. I get most of my motivation out of relationships because I'm constantly reminded that there's a girl I care about and who I want to take care of.

If I'm by myself, I'm not nearly as motivated to do anything because I'm not being constantly reminded that I could be making money. I don't spend a lot of the money I make anyway, so the drive for money itself isn't a strong motivator for me.
