No More Upsells ! What if Thank you pages became strict ?

Thank you pages are good to add some upsells, or additional links to further your sales profit margin {aslong as the purchaser clicks the upsell and buys}

Can there eventually be a law/control on what you display on your thank you page, {which would be hard to endorse I know}.

eg- if clickbank allowed this new guidline of No additional selling on your thank you page?

which would only allow you to display the download link, and NO ADDITIONAL offer?

{just as adwords stopped you linking to a squeeze page} and modifications got made ?

Of course it *could.* Anything *could* happen. Why worry about what ifs?

Then you quit using CB .. run your own payment buttons and do your own thing.

It's highly unlikely. Clickbank earns their money by selling products for you. By saying no thank you page upsells they'd really be saying, "No more sales, we've made enough money now."

Don't think that's going to happen.

Just when you think you've got it all figured out, someone changes the rules.

Considering Clickbank only recently launched their one click upsell feature I don't think this will be happening anytime soon. Besides, any payment processor that created rules like this would just be shooting themselves in the foot. People would just go and sell their goods elsewhere.

Yep. If one doesn't fulfill their needs, they move onto the next. I definitely don't see this changing anytime soon either.

He isn't asking specifically about CB. He is asking if the gov made it illegal. His CB comment is an example. Hence the "e.g."

Either way, it's a silly question.

Hell no, are you crazy? What would be their incentive to do that? Their job is to facilitate the sales of members products, not restrict them.

or what if they said no to 'non clickbank' upsells, such as other Products which had say a Paypal processor,

so the clickbank thank you page had a thank you upsell to a Non clickbank product, or another members squeeze page link.

so they thought of the thank you page letting the buyer go to 'other' channels ?

Why are you worrying about this? It's totally unnecessary.

Just get out there and start selling. No one can control what products you decide to offer to your customers. Are they going to make it illegal for McDonalds to ask me if I would like fries with that?

Why doesn't every government just make a rule of "no selling on the internet" would that make you happy?

And everything has to be free. Sounds good.
