WOow my new WP-Site performing well-take action!!

I just wanted to show you how you can succeed if you take action. On July the 18th (5 days ago) I decided to make a new website. I used Google Keywords tool and just made sure to look up some keywords that I'm passionate about. So I found a keyword with around 30000 searches a month and not that much competition.

I bought a top level domain name for $8, hosted the site with BlueHost as I have all my websites up with them and then worked around 5 hours on this site.

Right now I have 27 posts published, lots of them aren't more than 100 words but with pictures.
I'm targeting a niche where lots of people are passionate about and also looking to buy something.

As I have lots of Wordpress websites I know how to go with them. But I never thought it would take off like this.
I installed XML Sitemap Plugin, WP Super Cache and Wordpress Stats (I'm using G Analytics as well, but WP stats work well for new keyword ideas). Thats it.

RESULTS:
FIRST DAY: 47 visits
SECOND DAY: 96 visits
THIRD: 178 visits
DAY 4: 129 visits
DAY 5: 163 visits

Google Analytics tells me:
  • 3.78 Pages/Visit
  • 00:04:13 average time on site

Search Engines (54.31%)
Referring Sites (29.74%)
Direct Traffic (15.95%)

I haven't monetized the site yet as I want to rank first for my main keyword. I will add Amazon and Adsense later. I'm on page 1, position 4 for my main keyword. I did some backlinking with one article at articlebase and blog commenting on official and highly visited blogs.

This was just a motivation. I'll answer your questions. Please excuse my englisch grammar faults, I'm targeting the US with my website but I'm not living there

That is a good set of numbers for a new domain.
I suspect your initial keyword research has helped you along with plenty of relevant content. So many people set up sites without a care for seeing if there is a potential in the keywords.

When I started out building sites I thought I knew keywords better then google. I wasted time buiding sites that had few searches and too much competition. Now I think I know better

Yes it helped me a lot. And you don't need any payware to do keyword research, the Google Keyword Tool is enough. I like creating articles/posts without too much keyword research because I want to build content for my readers, not for Google. But the website itself should be built around a keyword with potential.

.....firstly great job on the site.

Secondly the competition that you are referring to in your picture is actually adwords competition, not serp competition so when you see a competition like that via the keyword tool it can sometimes mean that there is no money in that niche because there is no competition and hence no one bidding for adwords which means adsense would more than likely be a non option plus if there are no advertisers bidding for those spots it's more than likely there is no money or product in that niche.....

Still you have done a good job!

Hi Liam, I'm not going to share my website topic. I can tell you: no electronic, but sth. that people need each and every day. And this combined with a famos personality.

        Thanks Terry,
first of all: About 321,000 results when I type "my keyword" in google. So yeah, its alot, but still I'm ranking well. The CPC is around $0.5-0.6, so there are lots of people paying for clicks (buyer keywords, big companies are advertising).
But you are right, you should be careful because often its a negative sign.

very inspiring to read this- well done. Possibly a dumb question but regarding:
    Referring Sites (29.74%)
    Direct Traffic (15.95%)
who would those referring sites be? Article directories where you have submitted articles?
where does the direct traffic come from?

    cheers

It's quite funny, most of the referred traffic is from some comments I posted on websites.
