Good morning fellow Warriors, I am very pleased to make you acquaintances. My name is David Friend and this is my first post, so i guess you can call me a newb!
How do you all do?After spending so long reading the great information many of you contribute here, I decided I would become a member and attempt to jump straight in. I see there is a exemplary group of writers here who undertake freelance work for many other members on a paid basis. I too would like to join this elite pack with all of your blessings, hence the reason for this post. I thought it correct to ask your opinions on the best way to go about making a good reputation for myself as a content writer, leading to a steady stream of work. I am also hoping you can give me some suggestions on the proper etiquette for offering my services, and of course becoming a useful resource here on the WF. One suggestion made to me by a friend was to undertake some free work for a short period to let people know about myself and the way I operate. Does this sound like a good idea? Can anyone else give me some useful tips? I thank all those who reply in advance.

Why not write yourself some sample pieces and place the on somewhere like squidoo. You can then point to these examples when people enquire about your services.
You could write the pages in different styles such as informational, sales or pre-sales. Hope this helps. |

You could set up a website with a special offer page and promote it in your sig file.

If you want to make an offer here in warrior forum you should have at least 30 posts then you can post your offer at WSO - you have to pay $20 for this.
Unlike other forums, I think people here are open minded, they won't judge you by the amount of posts you have as long as you give valuable posts. I posted my offer at WSO a while ago - much less posts then I have now - So I offered free reviews for some people and ask them to give an honest review about my service. Turns out great, many are using my service after the reviews, perhaps you should do this also. |

I'd recommend getting together several 300-500 word articles on popular niche subjects and have them readily available to show potential clients. They will ask. Set them up on your own site or blog and promote in your sig, like it's already been suggested.
Also, if you haven't already, learn how to SEO optimize you're content. Learn how to do good keyword research. Good Luck, Capone |
