video editing help - video quality problem

Hey guys,

I am trying to do a product review video for a product we promote on one of our sites. I have used Total Screen Recorder Gold. The video is 23 minutes long and I made a mistake about half way trough so I need to splice a clip in. The problem is, no matter what video editing software I use makes the original video go all blurry when I import it in to the software. I was going to use the free windows movie maker to edit it. I thought it was because this software was free it made it blurry, but no matter what editing software I try I have the same result.

When I did the original video I saved it to WMV format.

Can anyone help me? If not I will have to do the whole thing again, and I have a cold, so I sound like Kermit the Frog at the moment. I want to get this thing done and dusted. I really think it's going to help conversions, and every day that goes by with it not being finished we are potentially leaving money on the table.

Thanks in advance to all you video editing geniuses out there!

Anna

Can you do a fresh export on the Screen Recorder Gold software - not to WMV?

You still have the original source files?

I don't think so. It just saves it like you tell it to in the encoder before you start recording. What I think the problem might be is the preview of any video editing software makes the file size smaller, for the purpose that it can play it on the machine without using too much processing power since it's only drawing what it is playing through the hard drive. Right now I am saving the movie from the editor to see if the saved version is better quality. *crosses fingers*

Yes the problem was that it was simplifying the file so that it could play it in real time. Once the video was edited and rendered it was fine. I was freaking out over nothing, again!
