OMG - does it happen to you guys as well?!

I'm quite shocked really, it happened TWICE already in just a few days!

I'm fairly new here, wasn't so active until recently, but I already have a few WSO's and offers where I posted my Skype address. I need to mention that I only posted my Skype address in threads where I offer video services to Warriors.

Few minutes ago I got into a conversation with some guy from India who just added me, here's how it went:

[14:24:35] A.: hi
[14:24:49] Eduard: Hi A.
[14:24:57] A.: hi
[14:25:39] Eduard: You said you contacted me from Warrior Forum
[14:25:44] Eduard: For what offer of mine?
[14:26:47] A.: my team doing seo services and web development services
[14:27:11] A.: my team 64 workers are working
[14:27:32] A.: can you visit our website www.----.com
[14:28:09] Eduard: Yes, I looked over it now
[14:29:34] A.: ok
[14:29:56] A.: can you infom your clients about our services
[14:30:34] Eduard: ?
[14:30:37] Eduard: Why would I do that?
[14:31:35] A.: can you join our affliate your got 20% commission for sale of our services
[14:32:17] Eduard: :|
[14:32:23] Eduard: Why do you think I am interested in doing that?
[14:32:33] Eduard: I am not an affiliate marketer
[14:32:51] Eduard: I don't know why you suggest me to promote your business
[14:33:09] Eduard: Because I NEVER stated ANYWHERE on the Warrior Forum that I am interested to promote someone's business
[14:33:22] Eduard: You just got my Skype ID from one of my video WSO's maybe
[14:33:38] Eduard: And you come spamming me with this
[14:33:42] Eduard: Not professional at all
[14:34:01] Eduard: Because now I am sure you didn't contact me because you want a video
[14:34:21] A.: i have 10 year experience in our services (WTF ?!)
[14:34:50] Eduard: So what?
[14:34:57] A.: ok bye
[14:35:03] Eduard: Did I ask you how much experience do you have?
[14:35:04] Eduard: Oh come on
[14:35:11] Eduard: This is NOT how you're supposed to do business
[14:35:21] Eduard: Bye!
Then, few days ago, a guy from Estonia comes to me, adding me on Skype, asking if I don't need eBook cover designs, because he saw my WSO and he thinks he can improve my eBook cover for just $5, and I was like.. uhmmm NO!

Is it normal to be added by strange people who want nothing to do with what you're offering? Should I remove my address and my e-mail from threads? Does it happen to you guys as well?

This can happen a lot. People are desperate for work online and therefore, target Internet Marketers as they know that graphic services are always going to be in demand

But it is really annoying. I used to get a lot of emails from "SEO" companies, offering me first page rankings on Google. But then again if we do Offline consulting we are going to contact businesses and offer the same type of service

Yes, but if we do Offline Consulting I'm sure we can approach people in a far more professional way than that, thus leading to better results. If they say "NO!" you won't say "but hey i do this fro 11 years want a twitter page for $99.99?"

        Agreed.

It can get really annoying and the more professional you are the better you come across.

    Yes; entirely normal.

Yes, if you don't want people you don't know contacting you, you shouldn't give out personal contact information.

Also, when this sort of thing does happen to you, if you dislike it so much, you can easily (a) make the conversations shorter, and (b) not continue to talking to them - as you did above - after they've said "ok, bye"; from that point onwards, you're actually the one choosing to perpetuate the conversation.

Your skype contact info is listed right under your avatar, no need to go to your wso to find it.

But yea, that is a bit random and little annoying.

Well, if it happens to others, then I might as well chill out. I will still keep my contact information available for potential customers who want to contact me directly (I prefer Skype or e-mail over PM's anytime). Guess it's a "sacrifice" I have to make and get used to this stuff

Get rid of your skype and email address... no need for them. If people really want to work with you they will contact you via PM first. Those who can't contact you via PM (their post count is less than 50) are the ones more likely to try and get you with these offers.

Get rid of the skype and personal email. Just like prospecting from the Yellow Pages, people are going to use the info you make public.

I don't run WSOs, but when I do want people to email me about an offer I go into my site's control panel and set up an email for that offer. If the offer expires or the account gets spammed too heavily, I just change the redirect to black hole anything sent to that address.
