"Limits" on new paypal account? How can they be 'lifted?'

I opened a new paypal account. I upgraded it to premier. Are there still "limits" on how much I can take in ($) per month? If so, where can I find the links to take the steps to "lift" the limits?

Or, do premier accounts not have those limits?

Please advise.

Paypal site says there are limits on 'personal' accounts. If I am a premier account, does that mean I am not a personal account -- right?

If I am a premier account, do I not have limits?

Premier account is not a personal account, right?

When I search their help e=section it tells me there are limits on personal accounts. I *assume* that means there are no limits on premier accts.

Are you saying I should call them on the phone? I've never done that -- I just assume that would result in being on hold for 3 days. No?

Do you get a real person when you call them? What's the #. I seem to recall the area code is 402.

Hi TW,

I think any withdrawal or receiving limits imposed on your account - whether it's a personal or premier - are lifted once your account is verified.

To be verified, you have to connect your PayPal account with your bank account. This process used to take a few days, but if you have online access to your bank account, it can now be done almost instantly.

I'm in the UK - but if you go to their "contact us" section at the foot of the page - there will be a phone number - you also get a "secure web pin" number (valid for 1 hour) and you need to quote your Paypal email address.

The only thing will be opening times (they will be displayed) - but, yes you do get a "human" - and the ones I've spoken to seem fairly knowledgeable.

You need a verified business account to raise your limits.

Since this is not the PayPal forum, you might want to read through their own site and learn how to use them.

From other posts I've read in this forum and other accounts from Paypal users, you would be wise to get a second or backup merchant account in the event you start driving big bucks through Paypal.

Don't leave big balances in there either is something else I've read.

It seems the more money and transactions you push through Paypal the more risk there is from a sale or two going south and Paypal can lock up your funds for 6 months or so easily.

On the other hand, a lot of merchants have used Paypal successfully without issues.

I think I would keep a plan "B" available. Paypal is kind of like Google, they can do pretty much whatever they want and it's hard to fight them if you have a problem.
