Finally joined twitter but.... My list is pretty empty, Who should I Follow??

Hey Guys,

Ok I finally joined twitter, mainly because I'm waiting for a fellow warrior to post a WSO and I'm hoping she will twitter it so I don't have to search through the WSO section.

So I have to admit its pretty cool but I feel kinda lonely, does anyone know of some interesting and valuable contacts to follow?? I have a couple of the big names but who else??

thanks
andy

btw
leanne King any news on flex 2.0 release ??

    Hi Andy,

You can start off by following some Warrior
friends who you have met here. =)

And follow others who you think you
    can learn from.

    Have fun twittering!

    Cheers,

        No problem Andy.

        Follow those who you think
        you can learn from.

        Make some friends =)

        Personally I have benefitted from
Twittering in the sense that I met
more people and also learnt about
        their hobbies, cultures and etc.

It is good to know who your
        Warrior friends really are.

        Cheers,
        John

I did indeed. Twitter has been very good to me.

Make sure you go "tweet" a couple of times a day on twitter, respond to other people's Tweets, talk about what you are doing with your business...and you will find Twitter can be a very powerful networking tool.

I always thought you were brilliant and discerning, Alan. And this is not at all because I've stage dived one too many times. (years ago. To make that clear. Too old for that now.)

    Hi Andy,

    I followed you.

You can actually get some good info from just observing tweets - like how to get a high pr rank for your profile (hint follow John Rhodes).

Where to get a nice twitter background to advertise your sites.

You can keep track of the Kevin Riley's Hamster controversy & know what kind of Whiskey John Taylor's having a wee dram of before bed lol.

Even recipes for The Worlds Best Collard Greens (from me).

Several people post some excellent free downloads or deals just for their twitter followers.

    So enjoy,
    Tom

That Scott Million - he's SPECIAL!

Jason - you know I disagree with you on this, and here's why - you already have an established name and reputation. There are things that people with an established name can do, successfully, that the rest of us can't. For instance, following a few dozen people but having thousands of people follow you.

If you had the same number of people following you that YOU follow - a few dozen - you wouldn't be able to communicate whatever your message is, to very many people, would you?

        Dana,

I agree and understand that a person without the name recognition such as myself has a harder time getting their message out and encounters many more hurdles.

However, I still think it's common courtesy to only follow those that you actually pay attention to.

You could be following me, but you are also following about 7000 other people which makes me suspicious about whether or not you'd really care to hear what I'm talking about?

Because let's face it, you can't possibly pay attention to all the Tweets of the people you follow. And to me, that seems very "distant" and very "un-social".

But hey, I understand the game here with most people. It's not about actually paying attention to everyone, but rather building a higher subscriber count, and hopefully more sales.

That's fine and dandy. To each his own. But I'm also smart enough to recognize when someone is "actually following me" or "just adding me to their herd".

I recognize everyone has a different method and agenda with Twitter. I just tend to think my way is the best. Then again, what's new?

"List of Warriors who are on Twitter. Follow them, follow some of their followers, you will be in good shape!"

Great advice, find a "guru" in your niche, follow that person and the people that follow that person. In turn most of them will follow you.

    Hi Andy

There's quite a bit of info about twitter - just put it in the 'search' button. For further help I found a lot of info by doing a Google search for twitter tutorial. Having said that, Dana is the twitter queen I believe.

True enough, I will never see all the Tweets of all the people that I follow. That doesn't mean I don't CARE what people are tweeting - it just means I go on Twitter a few times a day, I check to see what my friends are tweeting and I reply to them, then I see what Tweets are on my home page and respond to them, then I tweet about my press release business or tweet a link to my website...go on my merry way...and come back a few hours later and do it again.

But are you saying that everyone that YOU follow only follows a few dozen people? Because if they follow more than that - you're right - odds are they are going to miss out on your tweets a lot of times.
