How To Upload a File For Download ?

Hi,

I want to upload a file to my website for download.

Like, I have a website, IANA — Example domains

I want to make a URL something like this
IANA — Example domains

so that whenever anyone navigate to it, download should start automatically.

I will appreciate, if anyone can also tell me how to do it on free blogs, like blogger, weebly or webs etc.

    But do you know how, I am using wordpress on my sites so I really don't know how to use FTP.

      If you have cpanel, just upload the zip file (or whatever) directly through the file
      manager. Then your url would be http://www.YOURSITE.com/DOWNLOAD.zip and would begin automatic download.

      I would not recommend you to do a direct download like that with an .exe file as a LOT of people will be ticked off if they're not expecting it.

      I'm not sure you can do that with free sites hosted by a third party, though.

    So basically, if you have your own server, you just install filezilla, put in your server info, upload the file to IANA — Example domains and when you give that link out, people can download it.

    If you do not have a server, you need to find a place to host your file... you could try... Free File Hosting Made Simple - MediaFire but I do not know if they are good or anything, never used them, just first result in a google search. You cant put a file on a blog that you don't install on a server... although you can put the file on your server and link to it.
