Hi guys.
I try to find out a niche using Market Samurai for a long time, but I find out it is too difficult, most of them are red Matrix, or yellow in Matrix SEO Competition.
What to do?
thanks

Trying to identify a niche with any tool is almost a rocket science.
I believe it's always better to use your common sense instead.

Here are two suggestions that may help.

First, look for offers related to your niche that get decent traffic but have less competition.

Second, it sounds like you're looking at small niches. I could be wrong, but that's the impression I get.

You'll do much better targeting a mass niche like digital camera reviews, weight loss, dating, etc.

There's more money, more potential customers, and more traffic readily available when you look at these larger niches.

Are you saying the keywords you've found have high competition according to the Market Samurai competition tool? Because if you are then you aren't researching your keyword correctly as I can easily find a good 100 or so keyword related to weight loss that get 500+ searches each month and show a lot of green.

with exact? but 500+ searches each month is too lower?
          that is my question

With Market Samurai, if you start with a broad niche you will have to do a lot of digging to get to the long tail keyword phrase with some potential.

It is getting hard to find those phrases with an acceptable search volume and lower competition, but persevere and you will find them.

Lately I have been getting ideas from Amazon's best sellers that are $100+. I take the brand and model of the bestseller and run it through Market Samurai. This has produced some good results.

    Cheers

Alot can be said for finding micro-niches, or the long-tail keywords of a more popular niche that have less competition. I won't reveal the one I have gotten into just recently (at least not till I have made a killing with it), but it's based on a very popular topic worldwide, and I have based my keyword list on all low competition keywords/phrases. The combined monthly search volume on one of them is 11 million, ranking for that one in particular is some serious bank.

Try not to over-complicate yourself when finding your niche or doing keyword research. It's one of the things that burn out many and lead them away from IM...

Some of the niches I'm in are yellow and I still do well. You can try to go after them or just keep digging and getting more specific. Maybe there are some long tail terms that would be green when the larger term is red or yellow? There are still plenty of areas that don't have that much competition so you should be able to find something. Also look around outside Market Samurai and see what you can come up with.

Brad here. I think what you do is keep trying ! You are on the right track. Market Samurai is a fantastic system. Long tail key words have proven to be better producers in the long run so focus on them.

I am really impressed with your work because I believe we are all getting into a the "next wave" of the internet. Have you heard of a 3D copier?

I think the same change is going on in the internet - we are just so close we may not see it yet. Take a look at my post - let me know what you think.

I've been using MS since its initial launch. It has produced excellent keywords for me in the past but trial version expired so I can't see the competition. I was on a webinar last night though and this guy has produced about 80 blogs all mostly in the mens health/celebrity niche. He doesn't even use MS just the google keyword tool. So last night after the webinar I went out searching for affiliate products in a certain niche. I found one that interested me went to google keyword tool and put in my seed keyword and sorted the column by competition. I found some great keywords! with 1000+ searches most of them much higher and the .com still available. Take the keyword and plug into google search with "quotes" to find out the competition. Its so much easier than you think! I had my site up in about 5 hours and already indexed in google this morning. Now I'm just going to start driving traffic. But in the past when I used MS I wasn't drilling down far enough in the sub niche or micro niche it was frustrating and time consuming! There are products out there for the micro niche. Find the product then find the keyword.

    Finding a niche needs analysis.
With any potential niche you MUST start with the back-end opportunities that are available to you. This means some additional income generation methods once you make the first eBook sale or after you get your prospect to the website. You need to find some additional items that would interest your prospects. Look if there are big ticket products...or multitude of products.

Find Niche industries that have a pool of prospects that number in the millions or even the billions. In addition, The simple fact is that if you want to make money, you need to sell to people who have money.

Also, when you analyze a niche the point is that you should not only check that the bid values are high, but also that there are a fairly high number of advertisers

After hitting the panda, it is not too hard to get rank in high competitive keyword or niche. Just grab a subject which you like most to write. Optimize on page SEO following best practice. Or hire a real creative outsource who don't know how creative he is? Like me!!

Then use your creativity and twitter. I guarantee you, you must be in minimum top twenty of SERP result from the beginning.

I go the manual route to find niches to take over. Generally I look at how much volume is available (keywords), competition level (how much work it is going to take to get into the first page) and also how well the offer converts on average for the niche.

From there, I put everything on the table and decide whether the niche is worth my time going after or not.

we do the best in evergreen niches.

    Stuff like :-

    financial
    relationship
    health
    fitness
    diet

We are in several of these and they work very well for us.

Infact I have a WSO at the moment, and not only do I give you the exact niche, but I give you the email copy and everything that made us $540 in one weekend. I was chillaxed and drinking a beer at the same time too.

Check my sig it may help you.

From my experience, never used Market Samurai btw, you will usually have more interest in building sites that you yourself are interested in.

Like working out? Build a site relating to techniques you've used.

Like eating out (who doesn't!)? Build a site about restaurants in your city, adjoining cities or your favorite type of food. This could even branch to specific sites with recipes etc...

Bottom line, look for a niche that suits your personality, interests and experience and you'll have fun making money online!

Otherwise, you just get sucked into a research abyss that never ends.

If you're looking for an SEO niche, you can check the search volume on the Google keyword tool, and take a close look at the first page results. I find it hard to use Market Samurai. If you have a good product with a good profit margin, you can get one cent clicks in almost any niche.

    here are some quick tips

    find keywords from keywordspy.com

get keyword ideas by replugging in the keyword ideas from google keyword tool back into itself.

don't just search blindly, there should be a niche that you are looking at, for example "dog training", or "poker books". think about the keyword to ensure that there are enough desperate buyers though. I have made sites that ranked and 0 buyers because they were either not interested in the information i gave them, or were not ready buyers.

there are some niches where they are many ready buyers, but can also be pretty competitve. Just take a look around you and see what people are talking about

    1. make money online
    2. lose weight fast
    3. save my marriage

you can check out the popular products on cbsnooper.com and see what people are selling to get a better idea of the niche to target. remember, it must be profitable.

    hope it helps

Niche research is so difficult because it can be extremely subjective - to almost any party. Every business can identify a niche in a different fashion, whether different psycho-graphics, demo-graphics, geo-graphics, etc.

If this makes any sense, especially for Affiliate Marketing with international offers, niches can be looked at or targeted differently from country to country. This is just a small reason why it is so difficult to pin point, and as most have said on here - do the research that fits you and use your intuition with the research for a target.

A lot of people choose niches, because they spend the time learning the who/what/when/where/why's of those types of offers. Offers are going to perform across niches, you just need to understand how to get a targeted group to those offers and capitalize on the opportunity.

Maybe you can focus on what you are interested in, what you are passionate about and what you are knowledgeable. Then, look at who are the big players in the market you are interested in - and see where they fail to serve the market. There comes your niche. You can serve the same market that the others serve but now - it's in a new way.

My favorite example from Dan Kennedy is: the example with Subway. After the add with the person who went from obese to thin and healthy, Subway is no longer in competition for the Fast Food Restaurants niche. It is now in the Weight Loss niche.

Keyword research can be a tedius process but it is a crucial one and getting it right will make everything that follows that much easier.

My personal hot spots for niche ideas are Ebay Pulse, Google Trends and the amazon best seller lists (I personally target items of over $100 if using the amazon affiliate program)

Once you have your idea the google keyword tool is your best friend. Somebody has already said it but a great tip that works well and quickly helps you drill down into a niche to find hidden gems is to paste GAKTs suggestions back into itself. You will find some great key phrases phrases this way.

It's also important to check out your competitors for the first few pages of the phrases you're trying to rank for. Be wary of phrases with many competing high PR pages or heavily backlinked sites.

Good luck and welcome to the world of IM.
