What's Your Take On This One... SEO The Splash Page Or No?...

Hi guys...

Here a question that I don't think has
been asked before...

I am in the midst of doing it and thought... hhmm, I'm not sure...

Do you guys SEO your splash pages or no?

It would basically be an extra step to get to the sales
page, but it does give you an extra page in SE's.

What are your thoughts on this?

Jamie

    Pretty simple for me really.

    I don't use a splash page.

    Get straight down to business.

Never use splash pages (unless you mean something different to what I mean by splash pages). Every extra page/click between someone and your sales page is lost sales.

The best way to build an email list is through splash or landing pages that capture the lead first. I've found that most people won't buy anything from your site at first glance.

Who knows why not? Maybe they get paid in 3 days; maybe they're waiting for something else to clear on their credit card. But you can't depend on them to remember to come back to your page to buy once their check gets cashed because they might forget.

Or, with all the ads bombarding them throughout the week, they might another offer and forget how good YOUR offer was. You have to capture their lead and splash/landing pages work.

That's why their still in heavy use.
When I think "splash page" I'm thinking of a simple page with a logo and maybe a little text at the entrance to a site. Nothing for lead capture etc.

If we're talking about lead capture pages etc then definitely worth SEO'ing them. The more traffic the better.
