Pinging Google Blog Search

I've been wondering how to get my blog on Google Blog search. I've been looking into pinging and the effect that it could have on getting indexed.

By default Wordpress pings pingomatic.com and I was wondering if anyone had an experience of changing or adding to where you ping?

I've added the following to one of my blogs to test it out. Waste of time or an essential tip?

I personally use lots of pinging just like you are doing now, and just a few blogs use only pingomatic.

The results, sites with only pingomatic get indexed just the same than theones with lots of urls to ping.

Just post on Twitter and leave a link to your new post. That's a fast way to get a new site indexed and to let Google know of your new post.
