Why Are You Surprised?

I've read a few threads tonight where Warriors talk about 'does the truth sell' ... 'youtube taking down 'dodgy' video ... 'affiliate marketing being the cancer of the internet' ...

I don't know why everyone is getting so surprised over this.

Internet marketers ARE a cancer to the internet ... at least 99.9% of them are ... because 99.9% of you STILL are trying to get easy backlinks, posting redundant unhelpful content and NOT adding real value to the internet.

Under these conditions how can you be surprised that major online companies don't want your garbage online?

It's honestly humurous/shocking/incredible to read about all the Warriors struggling to make a buck online or who WERE making a buck online until they got banned (for doing something flaky) ...

Good marketing isn't based on lies and deception ...

Good making is based on having a solution to a problem ... if your solution isn't really a solution but just a band-aid fix don't bother promoting it ... instead keep on searching for something which can actually help people.

Not to go on a rant or anything it's just making money online is not hard if you start with the intent to help people instead of helping yourself.

This has been said millions of times but apparently repetition DOESNT work because you're all still not learning ...

So please don't be surprised that respectable online companies which ARE adding value to peoples lives ...

Ezine
Google
Youtube
etc

Have USED internet marketers to gain some leverage and profit ... however why in the world would they continue to support IM'ers now that there's no need to?

I wouldn't. I wouldn't support a bunch of people who are trying to profit through lies and deception to the general public and neither would you.

So instead of whining and bitching about the injustices of the internet ... start planning a campaign which will actually make it worthwhile to visit your site ...

Good luck.

I agree with much of what you're saying in spirit. But I don't think 99.9 percent of marketers are causing the problems. I think it's a much smaller group. The thing is, they are the ones that get noticed while those of us who play by the rules end up getting punished for the cheats and frauds. People end up thinking everyone operates a black hat circus.

My stats might be slightly off but here's what I know ...

When I come on WarriorForum and read about new Panda update, or YouTube cleaning up I see a lot of complaints.

When I ask my partners about Panda updates, or YouTube cleaning up I see a lot of profits, smiles and ecstatic talk.

Which brings me into my point that ... if you play by the rules and add value you're not going to be punished ...

      ‪OutSourceRabbit's Channel‬‏ - YouTube

My YouTube channel which I've had for a year or so (built it without any direction so am hesitant to put up more videos) hasn't been touched at all by YT all though I'd say I'm well within the MMO niche.

I have partners who are promoting skin diseases and other health problems, but actually paid REAL medical professionals 0.03/word and up to research and write helpful articles.

My point is ... if you do it right you have a lot less worries.

Start right from the beginning and continue that way ...

There are no shortcuts in life ... only lazy people who think they can get around doing the necessary work ...

Well if you never do the necessary you haven't travelled the path necessary to understand ...

And until you do that you'll always be in the mind set of looking for the next short cut ... instead of the mindset of a little hard work can go a long way.

      my 0.02 ...

In no way shape or form is this an accurate statistic. 99.9% of marketers aren't a cancer to the internet. I would be willing to bet my entire online business that there are more of us out here trying to simply make a living for ourselves on the internet--and that's it.

Sure, there are "magic pills" or methods that use bluefart tactics to get you ranked and making money, however, that is NOT a solid foundation for the future of your business.

I want to be in business in ten years. I want to be able to provide an amazing life for my eventual family. I don't have time or the energy to try something foolish, get banned and watch my entire business crumble to pieces.

Notice the word I am using there. BUSINESS. I may not make 10k a month, but guess what I still treat my small $300 to $500 a month as a BUSINESS.

One that I don't want to go away. Those that are treating their online dealings as a business are far from a cancer. Those that utilize internet marketing to build an online presence for an already established brand are not a cancer. Far from it.

If you think that the only thing involved with internet marketing is taking advantage of platforms to make a quick buck than I suggest you go pick up some books on marketing. Slap the word internet in front of it and you get what most of us are trying to do.

Apart from the statistics (which I admit to the other poster AREN'T accurate, but get my point across quite well).

Your post is an extension of mine and I agree with what you're saying.

But honestly ... with 1k+ posts on WF I'd expect you to be making more then 300-500 with your online biz ...

Not saying that to belittle you or anything but maybe you're not investing your time in the right places?

What does my post count on the Warrior Forum have to do with my online income?

Furthermore, I started to make money online to have some mad money on the side. My "day job" is an SEO gig for an online ecommerce company... a job that I thoroughly enjoy.

Not making excuses, but just because I don't make 10k per month doesn't mean I shouldn't treat my income "mad money" projects as a business. That amount will increase in the future as I (like most) made some fatal errors when I first started.

It wasn't until I started treating my "income projects" (as they were called at the time) as a business that I began making what I consider a size able income, in addition to my well paying 9 to fiver.

Just a heads up to Warriors ...

if a little hard work can go a long way ...

imagine what a lot of smart hard work can do ;-)

Painkillers have kicked in now and am going to bed, will check this thread in the morning. Hope at least one person will change their ways and start building a viable business instead of one that will in-evitably be wiped out.

    Cheers,
    -Konstantin.
