WARNING: Fake Aweber Email Scam!

Hi guys,

I got an email today supposedly from Aweber. Here's what it said...

Here at Aweber we take our customers security seriously,
According to our daily reports we believe that someone with a different IP was trying to access your account without a valid permission.
our security system has detected an unusual activities on your account earlier,
we would highly recommend you to choose a strong password for helping prevent unauthorized access to your Aweber account.
for your own security we flagged this case to be high risk.

In order to solve this problem and establish a new secure environment on your account,please follow the instructions in our secure hosted web form through the link below
http://awebercomplaint.com/users/res...=resetpassword

we usually give a maximum of 7 days to our customers to respond to our security warnings

if no action will be taken from your side in the next 7 days your account will be temporary deactivated for future investigation.
if you believe you are receiving this message by mistake please contact our account security department
for more information regarding this case

Screamed BS, so to double-check I contacted Aweber who confirmed it was a scam. They're aware of the problem and are taking steps to resolve it.

BUT... I figured it was important enough to post here to let you guys all know (I didn't see it on the first few pages etiher).

Remember... never click on links in emails to enter this kind of info. Instead, go to the website by typing in the address bar (in this case, www DOT aweber DOT com).

To clarify... this is no reflection on Tom or the awesome team at Aweber. But in my distracted state I almost clicked on it, so I'm letting others know about it just in case.

      Not true, but it certainly can be a red flag. In this case it is a scam. I can think of several companies that send customers to another website for support issues.

    You may want to remove your email from the link you posted. No need inviting more spammers to use it.

    I got the same email too, to a gmail email address which is not associated with amy Aweber accounts or lists.
