First Mile Stone Of $10,000 Reached :)

I believe in celebrating even the smallest achievements. My goal was 10 k in sells this summer, I actually did it in three months. This isn't all profit *I wish!* I run a drop shipping website but I am guessing the first 10 is the hardest right? Now I am on my way to 20 k which hopefully I will reach within the next 2 months, starting to get rankings still plenty to be had.

It just excites me that I dropped out of college after two years and learned this cold turkey and am starting to get good at it. Every sell adds to my business value and that truly motivates me even more. Id like to build a 100 k plus business and sell that baby.

If your new it's all about working hard, don't live on forums, don't just talk you have to walk. If you do that and don't let anything hold you back you will find success eventually. I don't feel I reached the *success* point yet, but I know I have what it takes to get there. Just wanted to share my three month story

    Niiiiice job Jeff!

I was recently looking into drop shipping. My girlfriend was a bit fascinated by the idea. However, one thing I see that seems to be a big problem is actually finding reliable drop shipping companies.

Doba seems to be one of the big guys in this market, but it seems the prices they show on their website are way outdated or inflated to make it look like the business is REALLY lucrative.

Do you source your products directly at a wholesaler/distributor?

Much luck on your quest to $20K!

I used to dropship using Amazon Prime and it worked out great. The only problem was that I got banned from eBay because they thought that customers would get annoyed that they could have gotten the product from Amazon instead even though i had over 120 100% feedback ratings They also said they could get them for a cheaper price at Amazon was selling most of my products cheaper than Amazon and offered extremely cheap 2 day/overnight shipping.

If anyone has a very good alternative to eBay that would be great. I used ebid and just came across Bonanza last night actually, but both seem to pail in com parson to eBay's sales potential.

Honestly I would stay away from the auction sites. Build your own website and take over a market. Make a real sellable business is what I would do. I sold on ebay back in the day but it's all price competition so I got out of it. And you are 100% correct many wholesalers won't deal with you if you sell on ebay, they want real businesses.

While people are in college, learning mostly useless things I am busy building my business and learning doing the real thing. I don't need a degree to say I am an online marketer ya know. I do have back up plans and those are different websites or online business ventures. Many of the top guys such as Joe Polish dropped out of college and is now making several million doing what they do.

So you were 18 when you learned and started the biz? (that's when most people are in college). Ever think of this...you can be an online marketer and have a college degree..WOW what a thought! So, instead having a few doors open, many will be open. Remember, most people that hire you look at college to see your skills and if you can finish something. If you had a college degree, you wouldn't be forced to start a biz and the pressure of "making" it work. I have a college degree and play with IM whenever, now that is a luxury. Most guys that dropped out of college and make millions, regret not finishing. This has been discussed many times. Congrats on everything except dropping out of college.

No I learned online marketing when I was about 21-22. I am 25 now. The key word you said is "most people that hire look at your college skills" That's where you lost me and who I am. I am in this industry so I don't have to kiss someone's pardon my language ass to hire me. I will work harder than almost anyone with a degree, and could easily make up I have one (which many do.) I am not talking trash about people going to college, I did learn some things there and meeting people was fun. You graduated good for you, and hope it benefits you. For me I am not looking for people to hire me, ill be doing the hiring myself.

Here here, i dropped out of college years ago when i realized that the information was useless and anything i learned related to my subject matter was done away from college. Everything you're doing right now is far more valuable, you are learning a vast amount of different skills and unlike most college degree's, there is NO ceiling when it comes to your success growth in the future. Congrats on your success, i say success because you've reached the place where you now know your potential income comes down to sustainability, hard work and perseverance, you seemed to have gotten to this stage so i guess you are a success. I love to hear other people come on here and tell these kind of stories. Thank you for sharing Jeff.

Thanks for your messages guys haha and yea if I build up my name so people know who I am and I can show success that would be a good idea!

As to your message Dr Fynest I almost threw up when you said Doba! Don't ever ever type dropshipping companies into google. It's all fraud! That's what so many people do in ecommerce and they go nowhere. You need to build your own site, do the seo, upload the products, you do your pricing, ect.

You need to get a tax ID in your state to retail products for wholesalers. Basically anything you see in a store look at who the manufacturer is. You would be shocked at how many of them actually offer dropshipping programs.

I have been learning and testing sites for about three years now. I had some success with a old yahoo store but it looked like crap and the usability wasn't what I wanted. So I opened this new store in March that did the 10k. This industry isn't over night, it's a true business you need to work hard at. Getting found is the hardest part for these kind of sites. If people don't find your site they don't buy your product.

I typed that pretty fast hope that all makes since, maybe I will need to look into doing a WSO lol

I believe in celebrating success no matter how small

I have huge respect for people who drop out of college and focus on building a business
It requires real balls to go against the norm and not go for the usual "plan b" of a getting a job to survive

Most of them end more sucessful because they know they have to succeed or they go hungry . It is powerful position When you have no other choice but to succeed .

    hats off to you .

Congratualtions . Many more celebrations to come your way

Congratulations on your success! I too dropped out... 20 years ago. I learned working is the best way to become a successful IT consultant. (Especially now that programming skill is a commodity... money folk pay for proven professionalism, integrity, track record and business savvy more than an degree.)

And great advice on drop shipping. I looked into those drop shipper lists and wondered how anyone could make money... the margins seemed so slim to complete. Very inspirational to see your one(?) man operation grow.

Celebration should always be about big achievements or big success. Even small events should be celebrated since we all started from scratches then will eventually achieve larger success. Thank you Jeff for sharing us with your motivational and inspirational share of your story. I am still learning some basics about the IM world since I have my full time job. I have read some threads regarding how people attained their goal of earning 4-5 digits, and really inspired me to try to learn a few more things on how to work on some online marketing.
I also would go for your idea that people should never be discourage if at first they are earning just a small amount, people started small then will develop and helps his business to grow.
Once again, Thanks for sharing your story Jeff. Always keep a positive outlook in life.

Jeff - Congratulations on your success!

Dropshipping has always intrigued me as a model, as well, and I remember researching it years ago but never followed through. You mentioned not to enter "dropshipping companies" into Google but to check name brands in the stores as many offer dropshipping programs. Did you then contact the retail manufacturer to ask about dropshipping?

WOW guys thanks so much for those kind words. You are truly kind and I will be happy to work on some documents that will lay out everything form point A and eventually will get you to z. I will share all tools I used, all my educational sources and more. If you are a motivated individual you can go anywhere in life.

I have had my lows and still do, but also have highs. The point is not to take anything personally and not get too high or low. Keep fighting and like someone said on here, dedicate your time as if you would die if you didn't have any income in the next few months. It won't just grow if you build something and let it sit, you have to work on the site everyday and get stuff done. Guys I will work on a blueprint for you I have to figure out how to do it ill contact some people and get this up for you. Thanks so much

Yea stability is key. What's most exciting about the site is it hasn't even scratched the surface of what it can do. My rankings are getting up there but I am not dominating some of the tougher more searched keywords yet. Once I can get on there I have high expectations.

Something I am seeing now is I will need to possibly outsource some customer service calls. I am getting so many calls everyday it can distract me from building the business which I can't allow to happen.

Again thanks guys, I guess it's success but honestly I am not rich from it yet, haven't purchased a car, mainly just keep investing right back into it. Lucky me I am single and only 25 so I have less responsibilities as those of you who have to provide for a family. But I am writing an Ebook this weekend and will include step by step instructions on how to get started, Finding drop shippers, tools, daily motivation, diet plan, to do lists, outsourcing and so on. I have spent thousands educating myself and learning the hard way from the rookie mistakes to online fraud.

I think what I plan on covering in this book can save many of you time, money and frustrating low points in the beginning of this kind of business. I will try to get this product done ASAP I have been getting a ton of questions so hopefully this will clear it up. I will also be including free personal help with this ebook so look forward to getting it out there.

Trying to quote as many of you as I can, I see many veterans congratulating me, thanks so much but am not worthy of that from many of you haha. I have many high goals and several things I am building up so once I can take you all out to dinner and talk business I don't deserve the congrats just yet but love talking with you all and glad it motivates some of you

Someone asked if I tried Amazon. When I was early in the game I did try it with dropshipping products with no success. I didn't really know or want to study the platform too much. I love Amazon and that's something I may explore one day when my current site has a full team that will be building it (besides myself).

And honestly you can make a ton of money Dropshipping! There are frauds out there which many of you will find if you start the business cold turkey. In my book I will go from A-B on how to find a good dropshipping company. Some companies don't have great profit margins and others have great ones. I like selling higher priced items because the profits are better, but you need to know how to write good copy and have a good looking website that builds trust.

Usually companies will add a dropship fee let's say about $5 per order. Just split that into your pricing, so $2.50 towards product price, and $2.50 towards shipping. Many go into this business thinking I want to sell at the lowest price so everyone buys from me. That's not how it works. I have been taught to sell at the higher end but offer better services ect..

Hopefully I will have a first draft finished tomorrow and ill get it polished up and hopefully it'll be ready for you guys in the next few days. I am also creating a blog about the topic so after you read the book and want personal help or info, I can do that for you on there. Thanks guys look forward to this, it truly opened my mind to some new ventures.

Ok so I made a short Ebook/blueprint whatever you want to call it that tell you step by step how I got started, what I used and currently use today. I am also creating a blog that will cover the subject with videos and personal coaching if you like what you read.

It will be about 10 pages with the following topics

Do You Have What It Takes To Succeed Online?
How To Create a Business That Allows You To Sale Online
Product Research Leads To More Online Sales
How To Find Drop Shipping Companies
    Getting Your Website Set Up
My Conclusion telling you whats ahead
Cheat Sheet -Tools I Use To Do What I do-

If you would like me to cover anything else please let me know. I don't want to overload new people with this book. This will take you a while to do the things listed in this book, and by the time you have your site up I will have another book that goes into the next phase of your online adventure.

From my experience it's hard to implement information from long books, so if I keep it short and to the point I think it will benefit you all more. Id love to hear your thoughts and requests if you have any before I get it cleaned up and turned into a final product. Thanks guys.

    A BIG congratulations man!

... I've sort of done dropshipping a long time ago, although I've since moved onto online only ventures and couldn't be bothered going through the process of finding reliable vendors (got ripped off for a few hundred bucks on Alibaba lol)...

Keep up the good work. Maybe we'll see a WSO soon

Thank you all again for your amazing feedback and kind words. I know when I was starting out I wanted to follow anyone who knew what they were doing and would explain how they got to where they are. I know many out there kinda give you a vague idea of how they started but don't tell you all the secrets.

That's where I will be different. With this ebook I will be making a blog so I can help anyone who's interested personally and we can all exchange ideas and become more successful together. If we all have willpower there is no limit to what we can do in life.

Wow Congratulations! I'm just starting out in seo, and it's inspirational to hear stories of people that learned internet marketing from scratch like I am doing right now. College is not for everybody, and if anything, you can go back when you're making six figures. That way you won't have to be eating ramen every night

Thanks again guys wow never seen so many positive people in one post! I am glad this can be motivational for some of you . It is possible to learn this stuff yourself, that's why we have brains many just don't want to use them to figure it out or fight through the growing pains.

Even the richest of the rich were in the learning shoes before, what set them apart was they implemented what they were learning. That's the key to success, there are no secrets, just hard work, dedication, and to become REALLY rich maybe a little luck

Luck is earned though your efforts though so don't be afraid of that word. Ebook is almost done after about 20 hours of writing this weekend just polishing it up and creating a blog that will support the content I wrote about for you guys. Thanks for all the support and feedback thus far

    EDIT
    ---
My apologies, I was responding to a lot of posts and I started to derail the topic. Congratulations on making your first $10k. Totally great and you earned every penny.
    ---

Internet Marketers are successful because Internet Marketing is the one thing that gets you money without subjecting you to an outdated top-down system that serves only to stroke the egos of boss-apes. The internet is the true free market - untapped because of the emotional attachment people have to outdated systems. They'll die with their own masters while their Stockholm syndrome ridden psyche tries to appeal to the sympathies of others in order to avoid doing any real work. You get the return you work for in a free market. You are free when you enter Internet Marketing. Your freedom brings you great potential - but you have to work hard to take advantage of it. That's what being free is all about - getting the just amount of spoils for the work you put in.

    Hey Jeff,

Congratulations and thanks for sharing the inspiration! Your story just makes me want to work that much harder to create my own success. I've had some success in the past and it comes and goes but I'm still searching for the consistency. Your success story has motivated me! Thanks again for sharing it.

hahaha thanks guys hopefully I will hit that 100k mark before too long. I am considering selling that site soon not sure yet but I am thinking with the kind of numbers it's been putting up without being at it's full potential that there has to be some value there.

Just wanted to share my three month story

hahah thanks guys appreciate the kind words again! I do want to make sure people know that my book won't make you 10 grand in three months. What it does is outlines basically what the business is, tools I have used and suggest, mistakes to avoid, and attitude you must have to go anywhere with it.

Like I said in other posts if your the type that wasn't blinded by those make a million over night schemes this will be a good blueprint for you to go off of. every market/niche is different, some of you may make millions, some may not make much at all. It's all about not giving up though, there are bumps that rookies experience down the road which my ebook shows that I went though. I just hope it helps people avoid some of the things I battled in the beginning stages of my "online adventure"

If your fairly new to the ecommerce industry this book can save you a ton of money and time. If your main field is IM, making a ecommerce website could make you a countless amount of money over time. It's like a physical business without the inventory which is kinda nice.

I am having the book polished up and error free so later this week it should be ready, and hope it helps change some of your outlooks and gives you solid starting ground. I refuse to promise success to anyone I teach, it's all about what you do on your end to make it happen. The main motivator is there are no limits on how much you can make in this industry. You guys been awesome in this thread it's an honor to communicate with all of you.

Awe haha thanks guys. Honestly your all here wanting to learn so you do have courage, you just have to find something inside you that makes you tick and haul ass. In the beginning I had my lazy moments, didn't think I could succeed, as was tired of losing money from rookie mistakes.

You just have to have that inner fire to want something more in your future and life, that's what keeps me going. I decided this morning along with the ebook I am going to make a video course to go with it so those of you that don't learn much from reading will have access to video lessons as well
