Hi all, thank you if you are taking the time to read my post.

Basically I have recently been introduced into the world of copywriting and found that I am very good at it. So after some extensive reading and research, I have decided to take the plunge and give it a go. I have today set up a business account, I have sales letters and products ready to go.

HOWEVER, when I first got into this, I was doing it with my boyfriend who has been doing this for 4 years. He was very good at all the technical stuff, sites, domains, sales pages etc etc etc. Well we have now separated and I don't really know where to start.

So I wondered if anyone here could help me? With low priced domain names, hosting, email marketing (is it necessary??) etc etc. ANY help would be gratefully received.

I can make a success of this, I KNOW I can, but I need some help and guidance first.

Thanking you in advance of your help!

You can get domain names from godaddy, namecheap, or name dot com; these are some of the better providers, in many cases you can find coupons to give you a lower price. Google the registrar name + coupon example "Godaddy coupon" and you can find them.
Typical costs for a dot com are between 6 - 10 dollars.

Hosting - check out hostgator, westhost, netfirms and dreamhost.

Check the warriors for hire threads - you can get someone to install wordpress for you, if you don't know how to and want to get going fast. THe other alternative - if copywriting is your thing, post an offer on the warriors for hire side, and get started.

Good advice. One thing I will add. When I first started I signed up with Godaddy for hosting, and have purchased multiple domains from them. They walked me through installing site building software(I personally use Joonla!) over the phone. If you want Wordpress, they will do that also, and it is free. Some of the assistance was inconsistant, but in the end I had what I needed installed in the right place. I now have learned how to do it myself and get it installed in the right directory. Good luck, you will get a lot of wonderful advice from this forum. I know I have.

Well a few things here that might help some
    1. I don't know what you're selling so I can't determine whether you need email marketing or anything similar
    2. Domain names I personally use namecheap as they are reasonably cheap
    3. Hosting - hostgator is cheap and very good
    4. Email - Aweber for list building - though free alternatives exist
    5. Then i'd say once you have a domain name install wordpress on to it (as this makes the design etc very easy) - get some plug ins for email, a freelancer for cheap graphics etc and you should be almost ready to go.
    Good luck
    Sam

If you are tight on cash, then just set up a simple wordpress account and use that as a tool to boost/bring in business.

You can use the forum to close a few deals and when you get some money, you can then set up your own domain/hosting etc.

Spend sometime on this forum - it will help you find customers, build relationships and get you the info you need to set up your website etc.
