How to Work Your Tail off on IM....and NOT Tee off your Spouse

It's not as easy as it sounds but after getting the looks and the complaints about being "married to the computer", I had to do something...

This works:

Put up a calendar or sychronize your calendar with your spouse. have the "IM" time blocked off and make it fully iunderstood that it is uninterruptable time.

Then, block off "Our Time" blocks as well as "work out" blocks.

These, as well, are uninterruptable.

Helped me and my spouse - now she gets it when I say "I'm working" and now I get it when she says "This is our time"

    Yeah. This thread needs to be stickied or put in the IM for dummies guide or something. I had to learn how to manage full time college + running multiple IM projects + a girlfriend (not in that order of course...)

    It's a HUGE handful.

    P.S. - Here's a tip: focus on separating work from play as much as possible. A lot of people are passionate about IM and it becomes a hobby + enjoyable thing to do (and it is) but try to separate them so you can stay sane.

    I do that without saying it....

    She is asleep or out of the house or I am out for the day/evening = my work time

    Dinner + about 2 hours of TV watching = our time (I need a break anyway!).

    I just basically adjusted until I stopped hearing complaints!

    Still, the "I am working while I am on the computer" talk was still required + a few demostrations of real affiliate checks is needed. Otherwise, it is odd for a normal person to be on the computer so much so you have to explain with some proof.

      I think that's a great point about focussing on one thing at a time. It's incredibly easy to get pulled all over the place in IM. But once you are bringing home the moolah, it's easier to justify your work time.

    I half fixed the problem - I bought a laptop!!

    Now I can sit in the lounge with the family when they're watching tele & I can tap away on the laptop.

    I did this the other night and made almost $400 in one night!!!

    Bloke didn't complain about the computer THAT night!
