My first fiverr gig, and I only posted yesterday!

Hey, I just had to share! After reading on here about fiverr again, I was finally convinced to put up some gigs myself. True, it's only 5 bucks, but at least I am getting paid for some of the work I was doing earlier for nothing!

So yesterday forenoon I posted 4 gigs, and this morning I had my first order! So for anyone saying fiverr isn't any good, maybe they are not posting the right kind of gigs!

Success stories are fun, and sometimes encourage others to try something they otherwise would not have, like me.

Keep going, everyone!

      Congratulations Ruth!

Yeah, with the right gigs Fiverr is a good place to make some money!
True, it's only 5$ but if you plan a small business there it could gets you an interesting amount of money.

I would suggest you to think of what you can offer, make sure you can complete a gig in maximum 30mins (if less even better) then you can easily make Fiverr your part-time job!

      30 mins > 1 gig > $5

      4 hours > 8 gigs > $40

Not bad for a part time job imho, confortably done from your home

I hope that changes for you soon. I would guess it can be a hit or miss game. Try to imagine up as many different gigs as you can, then post them and see which ones actually get popular. It only takes a few minutes to post a gig, more is better than less! Good luck, and if you have not posted any new gigs in a while, I would put up a few again, if I were you.

Very cool... I also make money on fiverr (it is quite possible).. I have made literally hundreds of dollars in the past few months doing tiny jobs! I also post the gigs on related sites to increase the possibility of someone buying my services..

    Other sites:

    MiniMoneyJobs.com
    Zeerk.com
    Gigbucks.com

and lots more... just do a google search!

Does doing work on Fiverr lead to more higher paying work? Meaning, are you able to upsell to other services/products?

At first I thought one couldn't make much on Fiverr doing something for $5, but I think I'm looking at the site all wrong! :-)

Excellent start! Gigs #1 and #3 are the best, since you are leveraging what you already have (your pr3 website) and they don't need a lot of extra work to set up. For your #3 gig reserve the right to edit the article before posting it for additional gig (#4). Good luck!

Thanks for the tips! Now that I have seen how easy it can be, I will definitely look into more sites. And yes, @big bank, my gigs are all IM related. I just took things I have learned how to do myself, and posted that I could do them for someone else. I am also finding that my Health PR3 website is actually a great way to offer some gigs from, like offering permanent backlinks on it. That is what I got my first order for this morning

Yes, I requested that he look at my work, and if all is good, to leave his feedback, which he did. Not very vocal, but at least it was positive!

Here's a tip: what pictures are you using for the fiverr ads? They should be related to the offer. People will click on something funny, wierd or outrageous! That should increase your conversion rates and help you stand out from the crowd.

Thank you for sharing your story! Rinse and repeat, and keep tweaking the copy/page for better results

      Hello,

I have about $1,000 per month for promoting products, I have been successful in other business making close to a million in earning per year, but because divorce and a couple of other challenges my income reduced by more than 70%.

My question is, what do I need? a coach? training? with my experience in successful business I can have great products in English and Spanish..

I can make my own videos I have a mac, keynote, screenflow, and a couple of good cameras.

      Please respond, anybody

It sounds as if you have a lot to offer, George. I don't feel like the person to give you advice, since you obviously outrank me in knowledge and experience. One of the guys above has a link for a site like fiverr.com, but for IM'ers only, and you can set your own prices for your services. The site was: www.imgigz.com I would suggest you go check out that site, browse through it for what others are offering and try to pick something you like and can do, and copy the service and price idea of someone else's gig that is already popular, maybe just adding your own unique twist to it.
        Good Luck and God Bless!

    Hi Ruth:
I'm no expert on Fiverr,But I have read that you can post as many as 20 gigs.
You know what they say the more the better (or was that merrier) I thought I would pass that on. You might know this but if you didn't then why not try it.

Reviews really do make the difference in how many orders you get.

Often, people will order my gigs with the highest reviews even if they don't quite need them - just to see what all the fuss is about.

Treat your Fiverr customers well and you'll get a lot more orders than you can handle

That's a good way to look at any business...getting reviews (positive ones) is really helpful in creating demand and authority.

what is your Fiverr id and is copywriting your specialty offered on Fiverr?

Fiverr is a really good place to work, although you only get paid aroung 3.90 at the end, its still cool.

I started about a months ago and posted a gig that I will create a wordpress site for $5. I got few orders and one of them really liked my service and hired me as his webmaster. Now I do all the website work for him and get pad per project basis.

This is why I love Fiverr lol

I hope you have success as well!

Let me start by saying CONGRATULATIONS realnetworker, on getting some success going with Fiverr.

I have found that creating several Gigs that are the "Push Button" type can allow you the most flexibility with managing a large amount of orders. For example, becoming a knowledge broker for products (i.e. - eBooks, Methodology, turnkey pre-made services) can allow you to quickly turnaround gigs in under 24 hours. Quick turnaround seems to make a good bit of difference for folks when they need something done to same them time.

Take a notepad and start brainstorming on things you already know how to do. Make sure they are things you can do efficiently.

Many workers on Fiverr have a tendency to get overwhelmed by only doing gigs. While this can land you some income, you need to discipline your time and allow yourself room to learn new things you can offer. You will get burned out if you go at it non-stop. I made that mistake on my first pass. It finally got to the point that I had to shut my old account down because I simply couldn't make it worth my time for the complexity of the gigs that I was offering. I found myself spending an hour on one task because I offered to do TOO MUCH.

Keep it simple, quick and look for other highly rated gigs that others are needing and you will do fine.

P.S. - I scoop up a lot of ideas and new business by simply refreshing the page from time to time and looking at what others are asking for in the lower-right side of the screen. The other day I simply answered a question for someone and landed a $4 profit for two minutes of my time.

    To Your Huge Success!

    • "Does doing work on Fiverr lead to more higher paying work? Meaning, are you able to upsell to other services/products?"

I think there's a different way to look at it.

Being on Fiverr means that all kinds of people -- including those with substantial marketing budgets -- see your gig. Because I was able to deliver a finished video same-day, I got quite a bit more than the standard payment. That's one thing.

Another thing is that Fiverr really is social. In other words, even if you don't end up working for someone you may end up networking with them. I have had this happen a number of times. You're a lot more likely to reap the social benefits if you put a face to your gigs.

I honestly don't understand people who think Fiverr is a great place to sell a scrapebox gig and nothing more. That's so shortsighted.

it all has to do with these things.

    1) Your offer and type of gig

    2) Your headline (this is a big one)

    3) Your description

    4) How you are getting traffic to your gig (this is a big one too)

Alot of people just post gigs thinking they will make 200 a day doing this. But you need to find a great way to get targeted traffic to your gig asap. Then if you have a good gig it will sort of go viral.

I wrote an article on my site about fiverr gigs, and I think if you can market it well enough, the best gig to do would be a 30 second to 2 min. video gig. Those you can pump out fast, and really it's a matter of creating an identity for yourself. Sometimes getting a little crazy (whether it's in a costume) or your personality can help drawn people in :0

Thanks for all your input and ideas everyone! I gleaned quite a bit out of this. I am a bit limited in what I can offer as gigs for the moment. I have to stick with what I know I am able to deliver in time. Being a full-time, stay-at-home mom, I can not always sit at the computer whenever I wish. So at this time, I have to allow enough time in my turnaround to make sure that I can always deliver on time. I want to keep my name good! As far as pictures and videos, I still need to get a camcorder, which is next on the list for equipment to buy. I am thinking of everything I could possibly offer that is fast and worth five bucks. I have a few more ideas

I joined Fiverr a month ago and looked through the sites at the gigs people were offering, wrote down what I thought I could do and then wrote my own gigs. I got a gig immediately it was typing up an audio - biggest mistake ever. It took me ages to write the 1st one and I had another 5 to do!! The amount of time it would have taken to type them all up, format it etc. would have not been worth the $5. So I gave the buyer the 1st write up for free and apologised for the inconvenience caused.

I have now gone back to the drawing board and looking at gigs that will be more time effective - I have a huge list to get started on, just taking my time to set everything up at the start so I'm good to go.

I definitely see Fiverr as a great money maker if used properly!
