Any Tips For Better Emails To Customers?

I have now 403 subscribers to my email list that they opt in for w/o any pressure. My last blast only had about 73 opened emails.

I send a email maybe 1x every 2 months but may bump it up.

On my next email my MAIN focus wants to be on updated items I added to the site, a article or short piece on an affiliate product I promote AND alos want to highlight my own affiliate program I have to boost sales.

Im using Aweber and want to know if there is a site that shows tips on how to write a very good email that converts into clicks.

Thank you

Not just what you write but what you show. Sure, text increases deliverability over HTML but sometimes the best emails are sweet and to the point.

Do what others do to me .... I once had eleven (11) emails in ONE (1) day from someone.

I sent him an email telling him the insanity of it. Guess what he did? He sent me another 7 (seven) emails the next day. That's NOT including the previous 7 emails a day for a month I received from him.

I obviously unsubscribed from his list!

Therefore, I was Just Kidding! Don't DO what others have done to me.

You'll lose credibility on top of your hard-earned subscribers! Trust me!

    Just a humbling thought!

P.S. DNChamp, send me a PM and I will send you the "Bible" on email marketing tips and tricks and email that converts to clicks!

I agree about the point on writing in the way you like to read emails.

If there are any marketers whos emails you *always* open or look forward to, think about why. It's probably down to the relationship you have with those marketers through what they share with you. It does take time to fall into your "groove" when writing emails to build this relationship, but keep thinking about the things that you think people want to see in emails they always open.

Next, you may want to email a bit more often. Try upping it to at least once a week so that you are more on your subscribers' radars and they remember who you are. Email frequency really is different for everyone, but I think being consistent and regular enough so they can remember you is a good idea.

"Talk" to your subscribers. Like you're having a short, sweet conversation with them. Give value, freebies.

If only a small percentage of your emails are being opened, change your subject line to read as something more conversational and helpful. DON'T start selling to them in the subject line.

Also, you really do need to increase the number of emails you send, otherwise it could be that they simply forget who on earth you are and delete your emails because they fail to recognize you.

There is a sweet spot for the frequency - send enough to keep your list engaged, but never so many you piss them off.

I like to keep it short, sweet, and to the point about what I can do for them - not about how great I am.

Making sure you have a call to action or a sense of urgency will help. Also, html with text helps deliver-ability.

I don't have a list or anything. (I'm involved in Amazon)

But I can tell you what I detest! LOOOONNNNGGG drawn out emails. Takes about 20 minutes to read an email that has a long story behind a simple message. A huge 20 minutes of reading an email to get a simple message such as, "Outsourcing gives you more time to focus on tasks you need to do yourself."

Telling a story to get a message across is okay, but like some of the guys above have said, use the KISS technique.

    Keep
    It
    Short 'n'
    Sweet

Also, don't try and deceive people with your subject lines. Don't have the subject line something douchey like "Notification of Payment", and then in the email it reads somewhere along the lines of "...this what you COULD be seeing in your inbox every day with this simple method..."

I absolutely HATE that with a passion!!! Anyone who sends me a **** email like that promptly gets an unsubscribe from me.

Also, like AnniePot said, increase the number of emails you send. There's no way you can build the kind of relationship that gets emails opened if you're only sending 1 per month. Maybe once a week at the least. People might remember who you are if you do that and as a result open your emails.

    All the best.

    Jamie

Your subscribers want to make sure that you are there when they need you. So, your first step is to send emails more often. You shouldn't be letting them run cold. I'd craft a follow-up series with useful content and schedule them (at least) weekly if I were you. Write about the issues they are struggling with, and that's "useful and valuable" content

Plus, your subject lines should have your unique and personal voice. It seems like everyone's using "PLR subject lines" nowadays, doesn't it?

Just be yourself, be imaginative, be unique and conversational. Demonstrate your friendly attitude.

Engage with your list subscribers, develop a relationship with them. Don't try and sell them every time. Give them free tips or words of advice which ultimately will help them to trust you more.

If you get them to trust you more, they'll be more willing to buy from you when you do pitch to them.

Keep your emails relatively short. Use longer and shorter sentences. Ask them questions which they can only reply 'Yes' to in their mind. And follow with a strong call of action where necessary.

If you need further assistance, I'm running a special offer...

You're not mailing often enough IMO... people forget very easily why or how they got onto your mailing list. I suggest you start mailing every few days and possibly daily.

... But, the one thing you don't want to do is piss off your subscribers.

So how do you not get on anyone's nerves?

Simple... provide a "snack"... not the whole kitchen. Make them hungry for more... send them to your front end offer and into your funnel over and over again. You can keep plugging yourself as long as you're not obnoxious and try to BS people.

And another thing... keep them entertained... the last thing anyone wants, is to be "educated". If you can entertain as well as throw in some education, you can build a far better, stronger, and ultimately more profitable subscriber list. This is one of the best things I ever learned from possibly the worlds best copywriter: Make your advertising too valuable to throw away.

Hope this helps a few people out.
