Need help writing a review

I'm doing a site with reviews on jewelry sold at amazon. My keyword research points to these being good products to target. I like to include a customer testimonial from amazon to add credibility to the product, but they just aren't there for any of these jewelry items. How can I beef up my review to more than a few sentences?

Use the search engines to dig up further information on the item.

See if they have a website that it's selling from.

You said it's jewelry. Have you tried going to websites such as Zales or Tiffany's and see if they offer the item?

Have you tried typing the name of the product and "review" on Google? Maybe you can use Google Product Search. If you're on Google, click "Shopping" on the top left corner of your browser. Enter the name of the product in the search field. There are sites other than Amazon that may be offering the products you are selling on your site. Most of these sites do publish reviews from customers.

However, I agree with Ellen. If a product has no reviews, then it may mean that very few people are buying the product.

As a solid 4-figure monthly Amazon associate, I would be wary of selecting a group of products on Amazon that has no reviews.

If nobody is reviewing it on amazon, then very few people are buying it on amazon.

My top converting products are those that have 50+ reviews, irrespective of keyword research.

I would like to second what Ellen stated. I have tried to do reviews over products without many customer reviews at Amazon and they don't sell very well. In addition, I find it difficult to locate unbiased information over these products. About the only time I really like to look at an item that doesn't have many customer reviews available is if it is a fairly new product or new model number. Then you may want to go to the manufacturers website to get some info, but it will be tough to find unbiased info. You could search by product name + forum to see if anyone is talking about it in forums. Maybe you'll get lucky.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I guess that's another tickbox to add to the product selection process. I found that amazon has this handy dandy feature at the side of the page that lets you sort by customer rating. That narrowed my search considerably. Then I just checked out the products with a double digit number of reviews (there were only three!), and found that none of them were suitable for me to promote (didn't match my niche, although now I have another niche idea .

Thank you guys so much. You just saved me a LOT of time.

Maybe also answering FAQ's that are on similar products may help ?
