Sick Of The Lies And Hype

Sorry for the heading, but recently I have been fed up and sick of the recent product launches. Like many people here on the warriors we have witness first hand those wonderful product launches done by John Reese, Ed Dale, Frank Kern, John Carlton, Jeff Walker. There was a process and a formula and these guys made millions.

Yes they did really break the servers.
Yes they did crash the payment servers.

It was a real education to see and watch taking place.

And over the years there have been some good product launches taking place............a whole process that took weeks to get to the sale, but even the free stuff these men and women gave us could be used to make money.

But in 2011, while you have some good launches still there have been a few which really make me sick. Now before I get hate mail these products are good and work, but it is the story that sells the product.

It all started off with a launch where we say this guy telling us how he was down to his last penny and one night in a hotel he saw some top guru etc and the end of the long video we heard how he cracked the software.
Powerful copy, good sales letter and video.

Then there is a slight copy another guy almost same story, but this was the real deal.

Then we had a stripper / lap dancer who tells her story of how one night in a club these internet guru's were once again in her club and she was doing her "stuff" and in the end she managed to get the code.

**Do we see a thread here? Internet Marketing guru's all getting drunk, giving away secrets and it all happens in a hotel or club ???***

Then few weeks back another guy...................club, internet guru's etc

Then this week...................a cute and sexy girl from the UK, sitting in a nice flat overlooking where she was employed few weeks back. Was this all different, well she said it was, She was different her story was different. Well I listened, we heard her story, saw her bedroom!!!! (She had her laptop in there to show us a clickbank account!!!)

Her company had cracked how to drive traffic like no one before.

Bit different from the others until she was not happy with her boss (she worked for a top SEO and traffic generator company), and then yes you guessed it.................she was at the Christmas Party in a club (I think) things happened. ( We are left to guess those, but it sounds like lots of drinking etc) she lodges a complaint with HR, and her boss settle out of court with large amount of money.

She is happy with the money, but then this nice and pretty girl as a parting gift takes the computer program this company have built and popped it on to a memory stick...........she takes her money, the program and says good bye.

**As a side note if she is the real deal, she has written and said on video that she has stolen from her employers very valuable computer code, and by the time she left the company they had offices around the world, so I am sure the "boss" will be asking police and FBI to look into it "**

But another thing if you close your eyes and just listen...............these videos are the same. OK different people, different story lines, but the anger of their old job, the tears of no money, the the club and the tone in their voice as they speak with horror as to what happened and then the way their life is now - is all the same. The shades of their voice are all the same.

Please let's starting having proper product launches, and stop these stories of what happens when the guru's get drunk. Remember one day we all could be a guru and do we want people to remember us as going to strip clubs and getting drunk????

Sorry for the rant

It was bound to happen, with all the raise in activity on the internet, there would be a raise in Internet marketing too. Then would come the black hat and dishonnest ways to make money. The hype and all the lies are just ruining Im'ers themselves because those who arent honest to themselves will never amount to anything.

    Ethical internet marketing beats everything.

Don't believe in fairytales, so I don't have this problem with product launches. I buy solid products from solid people who don't make up lavish stories to sell their products.

Too many people believe everything they read. The more hype and the more unreal the headlines seem, the more they fall for it. I believe it's because it says what they want to hear.

most of that crap comes from Clickbank, see I dont have nothing against them but I would never promote that crap, its just not the way I am. There are thousands of warriors here that are affiliates in the *make money online* niche, and they dont give a damn about who they are promoting those products to, they just think in their pockets.

    Live is good....

I am surrounded by lush green as I sit out on the beach hearing the ocean waves hit the white sound.

N:In my robe, smoking on a cuban cigar!

The day you realize that the stories are real is the day you'll dive into that "pro duck", and, take action.

Thanks for all the replies so far. The sad thing for me is many new people will be caught up by the "Hype and WOW factor" of it all and spend their hard earned money. They no different.

Myself I have been selling online since 1994/1995, and have seen it all and more. Before then I was in Direct Mail and this too had the same type of hype, but on the whole it was innocent. Those were the days of Gary Halbert, Dan Kennedy, Jay Abraham, Carl Galetti, Bill Myers, these guys knew how to write a letter, a letter that sold items.

It just makes me so sad to see the rubbish that is talked about in these sales letters, making people part with hard earned money. Also because we are seeing so many of these long form video sales letters people will miss out on some real good things.

But hey that's life, and there is one saving grace, these items are being sold through clickbank, so when new people do not like what they see, they can get a refund.

You are right and I agree with you. These so called Gurus are just making fool of the people like us.The stories are same just with different names and faces. This is the reason that Internet Marketing has turned into a pariah. We must have some kind of regulator for this industry

Sorry, but what you are describing is a self inflicted wound.

If you really feel this way then it might be a good time to take control of your own actions.

Nobody is forcing you to believe everything you see or hear including sales stories.

Thank goodness that the MMO niche via Internet Marketing is just a very small drop in the e-commerce bucket.

Like any community you're going to have your scumbags who only care about the almighty dollar. It's based on their faulty value system whereby they think that having all the latest toys, cash, and even some notoriety is what's going to make them happy. What they're missing is the life time value (LTV) of the customer and the real and true benefits of running an ethical business that solves a problem in a certain market place, while delivering value.

That basic formula for creating wealth is never going to change.

I'll never forgot this conversation I had with a drunk guru at a strip club in Dallas......
    Ok, just kidding.

Half-kidding, actually. Several years ago I was having some shots with some other marketers at a seminar. And one of them actually admitted to me that all his marketing efforts were focused on one thing: "to milk them for all they've got" and "because they're stupid they deserve to be taken advantage of."

This guy was a pretty big name in his industry and I instantly lost all respect for him at that moment. I'm a big believer in karma and that attitude is only going to come back and bite him in the ass (by the way, it already has). I knew there were people out there that ripped people off, but just hearing how this one marketer viewed his customers was sobering and totally reprehensible.

And people wonder why I thoroughly screen my JV partners. This is just one of the reasons. Despite experiences like this you'll never hear me say "all gurus" or write that "all gurus" this or that because that's faulty logic. You can't lump them all together as a group because there are good ones, bad ones, and everything else in between.

      Hi Rod,

Many years I ago I was talking with a very successful MLM owner, he had it made in many, many ways and at a party (real one - but no strippers or people getting drunk), he basically said he has made his millions the UK can go to XXXXXXXXXX. Weeks later the company folded.

But on a positive note, years ago I was talking with a UK Direct Mail Guru and promoter. It was a high end (well for me £5,000 one day seminar), I could not afford this, so in an off the cuff email, I said sorry could not make it, due to money, and in closing I put a offer out to him. I said if it was as good as he said it would be, how about Mr Guru giving me a free ticket and free products and if it worked I would pay him out the profits. Sent the email.

Ten minutes later, he Mr Guru emailed me and said yes up for the challenge, plus he will send me a cheque to cover my travelling expenses etc. To me that is a person who is ethical and honest. And when I did make the money, and sent it to him, he said no thanks you keep it as I had done all the work.

Think those days have long gone.

        Andrew,

I don't think those days are long gone. One of my employees wanted to attend an expensive seminar last year but he could not afford it. So I advised him to contact the marketer (who I knew was one of the good guys) and offer his services as a volunteer.

He e-mailed the marketer a brief, but thoughtful letter on why he wanted to attend the seminar and what he planned to get out of it and what he could offer as a volunteer.

The marketer agreed. My employee flew to the other side of the USA and did a great job as a volunteer. He also soaked up the information and came back to California. It's been about a year since he took that trip and he now has his own part-time business earning 60k per annum after taxes. He still works with me because he loves what he does and likes the learning experience.

There are still plenty of good people out there. A couple years ago a Warrior from Australia mentored a bunch of other Warriors for free and to this day he still helps people behind-the-scenes. I think those days are still here, it's just a matter of knowing where to look and what to focus on.

Can we stop with the guru bashing! Come on... it's been done a million times and it doesn't and will not achieve anything.

Internet marketers and biz opp seekers are 2 totally different types of people. And those stupid stories are aimed at biz opp seekers who'll buy ANYTHING that promises them an easy lifestyle in exchange for $37.

    ... yes, some get aggravated.

    BUT...

If you fall for it, the blame is on you. Stop whining about the "gurus" already... the same advice, rant, and people come out to say the same stuff in different words.

You'll either "get it" and find out what you have to do... or continue chasing dreams. It's that simple.

    Ansar

P.S. Sorry if this post is a bit harsh but... I've read several threads where someone brings up "gurus" and it escalates into a bashing (yet again).

Not all those stories are lies...

I myself didnt start making money onlune untill i got fired. once i was fully committed it only took me 6 weeks to make up my lost offline income.

Sometimes its the fact your in a crap or bust situation that makes the difference
