Hi Guys,

I had a thread here asking for some advice on the best place to post here on warrior about a link exchange for content and it looks like it has been axed?
How would I find out why it has been deleted, I thought I was asking a legitimate question but it has obviously been seen as a spam thread?

Thanks.

It's possible that it was just moved to the proper section of the forum.

If it was deleted, though, most likely what a moderator will tell you is that it happens to a lot of people's threads at some point or another. Don't take it personally.

Edit: Just looked and there's a sub forum for warrior reciprocal links. Not sure if that's the right place for it, but it may be a start.

    Hi j,

It was probably seen as spam because it was your very first post on the forum. You didn't contribute to the community first and it was probably looked upon as you not even bothering to look at the different parts of the forum before asking the question.

Look down the main page of the forum where all of the sub-forums are located and you will be able to find out the answer to your question.

This forum is a wonderful place to learn and teach; just don't burn your bridges too soon.

    Best Wishes,

    Ayesha

      Hey,

Do not start a thread and complain about why your thread has been deleted.

It's an attitude not "tolerated" here.

Sorry Devid, I wasn't meaning to come across as being arrogant or rude I was just asking for some advice as to the mistake I may have made so I could avoid making the same mistake again.

Again, I do apologize if I may have upset or offended you or anyone else here on the Warrior.

Sorry I wasn't aware there was a "Why was my thread deleted" forum.
I did have a look at a couple of the other forums but they did say if a newbie to the forum was to post asking for jv's, their thread would be deleted, which is why I was asking for advice on where to post.

Thanks for the input I will make sure I have a better look around before I post again.

    jyoung...

The thread may have been deleted for several reasons, many of which have nothing to do with you.

    > It could have been seen as spam by enough members who flagged it that it went into moderation (which would make it look like it was deleted).

    > It may have been in the wrong section (it was), and some moderators move such threads while others delete them.

Check out this thread for a fuller discussion:

And just for your future reference, the others are correct. Starting threads asking why another thread was deleted is considered poor manners here. You're brand new, so you'll likely get some slack, but please don't start another thread like this unless you want to be banned.

    Hope this helps...

Thanks John, the article you referred to certainly helped, appreciate your feedback and positive suggestions.

You have 1 post - and just joined ... and off topic - probably just deleted instead of messing with it.

      jyoung,

Good job on taking constructive criticism with grace. You'd be surprised at how many people throw a tantrum when they get a thread deleted and other warriors try to explain why. Nice to see someone behave like a grownup.

It probably wasn't seen as spam. Who knows why it was deleted. Could have been posted in the wrong forum. There are sub forums here and there is a subforum for link exchanges. Don't sweat it and don't post why is my thread deleted posts. Mods do not have time to give people explanations as to why their thread was deleted.
