Offline SEO. Get in touch with your local skate parks or facilities. Meet with ones close by in person about advertising. Branding; Get yourself something that will stick in the mind of your demographic. You're targeting teenagers/young adults, many of them will be listening to their friends or friends of friends about great sites to buy a new board/equipment. Targeting skating websites/forums is another good place to start.

Reputation is very important in your industry and demographic. Do the things required to brand yourself as being an expert in your field. Social media is big with your demographic as are phone apps. Hopefully that helps you get the juices flowing a bit.

Adam, with a product like this, no amount of copy will help you.

I'd really recommend hiring a camera team and getting some professional promo videos with this thing in action - demonstrations are the key!

You could also do some good video marketing and build a "sub brand" around it... similar to what "AR Drone" is doing with their Ipod helicopter thingamajig.

    Hope this helps.

Have you tried getting your product into the hands of the big names in the skateboard world? If they like it, use, or plug it, you're on your way.

I couldn't agree with Ansar more! Getting a great video made of the product is a great first start. After you get it made, go to pixlepipe.com and sign up for an account at all of the video sharing sites that pixelpipe will post to. Then simply blast your promo video out to all of these sites.

If you have the money, make a few different videos, or at least change the editing of the original, and blast all of them out too. The more eyeballs the better.

Lastly, if it's your product and you have the markup, start contacting stores and distributors with wholesale pricing. And link them to one of your promo videos so they get a good first impression.
