Fake Wordpress advertising plug-in warning

I've noticed several posts recently from people whose Wordpress sites have been hacked and who've had advertising re-direct malware on their computers.

I'm not sure if this is related to those as I haven't unzipped this plug-in to see what it is.

Many blogs are receiving comments from someone calling themselves "Martin Dumont" and claiming to represent a French advertising agency. He says his client, a well know clothing company, wants to advertise on your site.

If you reply (I did using an online, scam only email address) he sends you a link to a Wordpress plug-in which he asks you to unzip and install.

I have no idea what this plug-in is or does - but I'm sure it isn't good.

"Martin Dumont" is leaving his comments from the Ukraine, his domain name was registered on 17th July this year and the entire content of his site is copied from a genuine French advertising agency's site.

Thanks a lot for the tip-off. Wouldn't it be great to be able to get the addresses of these sorts of con-artists and arrange for them to be 'visited'!!!
