I vote for CJ, actually. But of those 2, I'd probably go with ClickBank just because there's more options in regards to what can be promoted. Wouldn't like JUST promoting digital products though, unless that's the purpose of a specific site. As there isn't a perfect solution, the best method seems to be a mixture of several advertising mediums.

Actually I use both, but for different reasons. Using Clickbank it's quick and easy to build niche lists of proven repeat buyers. Then with Amazon products I sell incrementally higher end products to those lists. Some Amazon products sell for six figures. There really is no reason not to use both Clickbank and Amazon together.

Would you mind explaining it a bit more?

If I am not wrong, Clickbank has some 15000 products altogether. Amazon seems to have more than that for a single category.

      I must be missing something.

They both have their perks and both have been proven to be profitable.

I don't have too much experience with using amazon because whenever I buy amazon products, I go directly to the website.

I think ClickBank is more versatile in that it can give you a decent profit for newbies with a few sales because of high commission while it still allows for the big bucks once you get good at it.

But I think it's mostly dependent on the niche you are in (physical vs. informational) and again, I've seen amazon affiliates make 10K/month as well so they're both certainly viable.

I've made a lot of money through Clickbank so I'd have to say them. However I've never really bothered with Amazon but it is something I've been meaning to try out

Diversify - The people that have put their eggs into one basket are crying now that Amazon has shut its doors to affiliate sales in some states.

Use both and look at other affiliate programs as well.

I've done both but I've done far better with Amazon than anything else.

I do have a few sites that started out promoting Clickbank ebooks on hobby and health related topics and then I found I could improve my monthly income by adding items from Amazon to those sites.

I never manage to do well with CJ but I'm sure that has more to do with the products I've promoted from their retailers than anything else.

MYOB (Did you change your avatar?)

Everytime I read your posts I'm reminded that I should really take the time to test list-building with my Amazon sites - maybe give some new life to those CB & Amazon joint sites.

If you could compare programs by just their commission rate, things would be so much easier. Instead, if you look at commission rates along with conversion rates and the opportunity to get a commission for items you didn't even promote, some will find it's much easier to make money with Amazon than CB.

That said, the more immediate payment cycle of CB is highly attractive and there are plenty of people who do extremely well with CB. I'm just not one of them.

I started out in IM following Ed Dale's The Challenge and that's what they taught back then, to monetize with ClickBank. I got some hops to my offer but was never able to convert them into sales. It probably had more to do with the fact that I was brand new and had never tried to sell anybody on ANYTHING before.

Beginning of 2011 I took a coaching on promoting Amazon products and have never looked back!

Amazon is so much easier to convert (IMO). It is the most known and trusted online retailer. A lot of people (myself included,) do MOST of their product shopping online. Amazon has spent a lot of money testing and optimizing their ENTIRE WEBSITE to do one thing: upsell effectively. This means you can send someone to their website looking for an item and they end up buying that and a few other things. Sometimes the person won't even buy the product you're promoting and end up buying something else entirely. Thing is, once you get them to the website, Amazon does the rest.

I was one of those who thought the small commissions wouldn't add up. However, it's a numbers game. The more volume you sell, the more you earn.

I've yet to try CJ. I did sign up last year, but I found their interface extremely confusing for some reason.

You took the words out of my mouth....That's why I prefer Amazon.

Now, if I were to get into article marketing or mega-list building, I'd say Clickbank would be better...So although you will find people on both sides of this argument, it really boils down to what your primary online marketing methods are...Both programs are suited differently in my opinion.

Ah, the student is in tune with the master!

It was YOUR coaching I was referring to in my original post.

Why not both at the same time?

Most products on CB can be paired with something related on Amazon...that way your offering your customers both digital and physical products and possibly earning multiple commisions off of the same customer.
