Does this style of sales page really work?

Salesletter : How To Make a Potato Gun

Russel Brunson used this potato gun sales page example in his underachiever secrets product.

It's basically just a basic black text white background video and a 'buy now' button under it. No sales copy or anything, just a plain video and a plain buy button.

The gravity is 0 but I believe that just means he doesn't have any affiliates on it. Does anyone have any experience with a sales page like this? Just wondering if it's worth trying.

Any feedback appreciated.

There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the page, it looks pro. The only thing missing really is the long list of testimonials and or bonuses. I wouldn't worry about it, its short and straight to the point. Low gravity doesn't always mean a bad thing, it could mean its just new.

only way to know if it will work in your particular niche, is to test it. Do a split test and see which type of page converts best...

It's not new, it's been at least 6 months or something since that product came out so the page itself is at least that old.

Just to be clear I'm not looking to promote the product, I'm wondering about the sales page tactic.

can't really answer without knowing what your selling.....Unless your trying to scam people like this spud site is doing. "Your initial charge will be $1.00. You will then be charged $19.95 one time in 7 days after your initial charge and then you’ll never be billed again." Also it doesn't look pro, it looks turd. I could do that with any blogging software in 5 mins. If you have to resort to that kind of selling you basically have nothing to sell.

You can take the ethics of the sales tactic up with Russel, I'm just wondering about the use of a plain video + buy button.

He suggests it on his course but his own sales pages are a lot more elaborate.

I guess I'll just have to split test and see how it works.

Yes, no reason it won't work

I use plainer sales pages than that one and have had better results over the "pretty" pages I used in the past...

    Good Luck

I've seen this type of sales letter work. In fact, I've seen one where there's nothing else except for a video (not even a buy button). Essentially, it forces the consumer to wait till the video is over before the buy button appears when a call to action is made.

I haven't used it myself but a friend of mine has split tested and saw that just having a video worked better (than having a "normal" one that we're used to). If you look at individual visitor's time spent on the page though, there was around 15% of people who just left within 10 seconds but everyone else more or less stayed put. I'm guessing the idea works if you are confident in your sales tactic on the video.

But again, I don't have personal experience using it so I can't say it will definitively work. I'm sure it depends on the type of product you are selling. In the end, the sure way to put an end to the guessing game is split testing.

It comes down to testing. However I know that that page actually does make money for Russel. So, in that niche, with that page, with that video, with that price point, with that button, it converts.

What converts for you will only be known after you start testing.

However, that page contains a lot of key fundamentals when it comes to conversions. The sales video is done in a manner that has been proven to convert, the call to action button is a button that has been proven to convert, so there are definitely things to be learned from the page.

But, like I said you need to test everything for yourself.

    Talk soon,
