Back to Article Marketing

Hello everyone,

I used to post here frequently about 6 months ago. I took time off from article marketing during that time to focus on forex trading. However, 2 days ago, I decided to write two articles and today I have $54 sitting in my cliickbank as a result.

I thought the google update was going to destroy my business so I quit before I had a chance to see. Well today is proof that it wasn't bothered too much.

Glad to be back here...

Hey glad to see you back. Forex trading is not as easy as everyone says out there.

    But remember these three things

    1) google had to slap cause there was so much crap out there!

    2) Spinning articles is stupid, so dont do it and dont buy those services in here in the WF.

    3) From day one google was after QUALITY and not QUANTITY. I have proved to myself that 1 high quality article on the high PR sites, is a lot better than 100 spun articles that are just jibberish. So don't spin your articles, its not worth the hassle. I even see warriors on here and selling WSO's telling people the secret to article marketing is spinning. What a crock of BS! that is why the google slap came in the first place...to many people putting out spun articles of jibberish.

Listen to GOOGLE...it has an unwritten law to all the spinners out there.

Write high quality articles and GOOGLE will love you.

Write crap and you will be penalized! Its plain and simple and this rule has been in effect since day 1. PRetty simple really.

Anyway, welcome back and good luck with you article marketing efforts.

I'm happy to be back. I'm actually making money in the forex market. It isn't too difficult. Money management has been key for me with that.

I agree, spinning articles isn't very good for business. I never spin articles. I only submit 100% unique articles. It's not difficult to earn $200 to $300 per week article marketing if you have a little time on your hands. I'd say that can be accomplished with less than 12 hours per week if you know what you're doing.

Bill I use to work on the futures floor as a full time trader. Not many warriors realise this. But trading is more about money management yes! IF you master this and get it right, you can make a lot of money. You dont have to be right every time. *WINK*

We still use article marketing, and I will be honest with you, it is not as powerful as it once was, but we still have articles brining in subscribers and sales. I wrote a post on this a day or so ago. They still are powerful if you use them right.

We outsource some articles and write a few of our own. But our outsourcers are killer, even use a few here on the WF.

Good luck. And happy profits to you.

Bill, you should write a guide on how to do that! It's hard to get EXACT info on that, it's ether very vague or scam...

I'm not a rich guy so this is something I may think about. I wouldn't charge too much for it. It's really simple. I didn't really know there was a market for this.

For some of us, article marketing couldn't be better. One technique I've been using for years is to get my articles on top ranking sites for my keywords with a link back to my niche sites. If you're on websites that are ranking 1-3 in the SERPs, it's as good as having your websites there yourself. Hitching a ride is much easier and quicker than mindless backlinking. And, it brings in lots of playing money for the stock market and forex.

Are you the WF member who uses a powerful syndication system to get mega traffic from your articles?

And to the OP, where did you publish your articles?

This is modeled on a syndication system first developed by Benjamin Franklin, I believe.

Perhaps it could even be traced back to Sumeria when they used tablets. Clay tablets.

          That was cryptic.

You completely lost me there, ha ha.

I just remember seeing someone talk about how every time they wrote an article they sent it to out to 20K+ sites or newsletters, etc. and got a lot of traffic that way. Not sure if it was you or someone else...

This is exactly why I got involved in article marketing, to hitch a ride on the sites that already had the audience I wanted to reach.

Even today, I am still looking for an audience for my articles.

As to the "death of article marketing", Google Panda changed the landscape of article marketing forever, and in my humble opinion, for the better.

All Google Panda really did was to make it important to get syndicated outside of the article directories. For that to happen, one must lead with good quality content that people want to read.

If one starts the process correctly, by focusing on the needs of their readers, then article marketing is stronger than ever.

I have often recommended "Turn Words Into Traffic" by Jim Edwards. He was a syndicated newspaper writer and former VP of an SEO consulting company. This book is available all over the internet. It very closely follows what several article marketers earning 5-6 figure monthly incomes have repeatedly posted here in the forum nearly everyday for at least the last 7 months. Do a search for "article syndication".

          Yes

With over 1300+ article on the directories.

We have found the best results come from

          - Ezine Articles
          - Article Base
          - Goarticles

I have ranked them in order too.

Good luck and good profits to you.

With 4531 articles published at EzineArticles.com I have found that even after the Panda I have been still getting the most traffic from them.

I also have about 1200 articles re-published at ArticlesBase.com but the traffic is significantly lower. It is hard to get clicks from them.

In my case GoArticles.com has been a complete waste of time in terms of getting any traffic at all and I would never bother with them again.

            I hope it helps.

How are you doing it, Bill? I don't seem to get
          many views from ArticlesBase.

Another question, do you link directly to your
affiliate product's sales page or you have a
mailing system in place? I used to follow your
          article marketing thread months ago.

I link directly to the sales page. I don't get a ton of views but the views are very targetted.

I've found that if you have a good spinner and you thoroughly spin your article, you can then get a large number of articles and it does save time. And you don't end up with gibberish if you do it right.

Bill congratulations on your article marketing success. I will like to know if you do
keyword research and backlinking for your articles. If yes, are they longtail or generic keyword?

    Thanks.

Article marketing still work. Many got sale just by doing article marketing. The trick is go for long tail + buying keyword.

Article marketing for me is at the core of my SEO strategy. It continues to work well even after the recent updates although I do see a marked difference between good quality articles (read unique) and those that have been spun to a high quality.

In general unique articles seem to win out every time and have a longer term presence. The best advice for article marketing is to stick at it....and its nice to see Bill_Lawrence made a return in a very short time period....thats motivating.

There is some difference since the google update, but article marketing still works fine. My unique and longer articles (450 words and above) still bring me good traffic.

Well one thing also is with the good standing a popular article marketing site already has with Google, you can get a page 1 and even a #1 position for an article written for a particular competitive keyword, yet the same content on your own site would barely register.Article Marketing is still a very good traffic strategy.

    Update:

I've tweaked things a bit. This week, I've had back to back days of $120+. I'm using facebook and youtube now. I will continue to try different things...one thing I'm not doing correctly is monitoring where these sales are actually coming from...but the good thing is they're coming...

I'm still doing article marketing and I am still making sales from articles I wrote years ago. And after the panda update, some articles are gone from the SERPS and some are higher than ever. I am also noticing that as I focus on better, longer articles, they are getting syndicated much more recently.
