How to run a fixed term membership site?

Hi,

I have written an ebook that I want to sell from a sales page using Clickbank. On the thank you page and in the ebook itself I will try to have buyers subscribe to a 12 or 16 week membership site, in which they receive an email each week with a link back to a main website that contains the next installment.

While I have a pretty good idea on the disparate elements involved I'm still unsure about bundling it into a cohesive package.

I know that for Clickbank I would purchase a domain and have a basic '2-page website'; a Sales Page and a Thank You page. The Thank You page would allow purchasers t to opt-in to a newsletter.

Using the newsletter (and with a link in the ebook) I would try to persuade purchasers to sign up for the 12 or 16 week membership. Each week they would receive some new and helpful articles, videos etc,.

What software should I use for the fixed term membership site? And would the membership site share the same URL as the ebook sales page?

As an example would the sales page be www dot MagicWidgetFormula dot com (this would be the Clickbank page where I sell the ebook) but the membership page for each 12 or 16 week membership site be something like www dot MagicWidgetFormula dot com/Week1 and www dot MagicWidgetFormula dot com/Week2 etc?

If anyone else has sold an ebook and then got customers to sign up for a fixed term membership site I'd greatly appreciate hearing from them on precisely how they did this.

Thanks

Robert

    Hey Robert,

It sounds like you need a script with drip feed capabilities. There are a lot out there, such as instantmember.com

Or you could use something like the butterfly script, which you can get for free at ButterflyOpenSourceCode.com The butterfly script and it's marketing model is all but forgotten about, which you can use to your advantage. That's the script I'm building my site with.

the membership plugin on WPMU allows you to set up various membership types/lengths and then hide/show content based on criteria you set up. I think it'd probably work well for your needs.

Any of the membership plugins that support drip feeding will do what you describe (as far as I'm aware it's all the major players except WishList whose drip feeder seems to only be available if you subscribe to their "Insider" subscription at the right time).

What you're describing is very very common amongst our customers (and I'll bet all our competitor's customers too) and should be no problem for any half decent membership plugin .

Most popular platforms including WishList and Amember do this.

Congrats on starting your fixed term site. It's a great way to go and retention rates are usually much higher with this type of membership.
