Why is WordPress doing this?

You have the latest version of WordPress.

You have the latest version of WordPress. You do not need to update. However, if you want to re-install version 3.2.1, you can do so automatically or download the package and re-install manually:

I took that off of my site. It has been there since I updated to 3.2.1. If I have updated, then why are they asking me to update all the time. I did the update again a couple of times as I thought there might have been a problem with the one I had done before, but it is still there.

Anyone have any ideas how I can get rid of it?

Reading the message helps. As CD said, they aren't asking you to upgrade.

Yeah... they are not asking you to upgrade. I have the same thing showing but even I just ignore it because my wordpress is up to date.

Well I sure wish they would take the update notice out of my dash board. I check it every time I log into my blog.

It leaves the option to re-do in case there were any errors in the install.

If you still see the 'updates (1)' implying a need to update, you may need to refresh or clear your cache to make that part go away.

If you're still seeing a little 1 in a circle telling you that you need to update something then it must be either a theme or plugin.

I'd check those out, include the ones that aren't active, and see if one of those is the culprit.

Well I just never paid any attention to it myself. But if it did bother me that much I would just go into WP code, find where that's programmed and removed it or change it to what I wanted it to say.
