Alt text format question

I had always put my alt text as the title of my post. But I was whining about not being able to rank even in the top 100 pages and someone offered to check my site and advise me. He has always given me good advise, so I trust him.

He told me to change my alt test from 'my blog post title' to 'my-blog-post-title' So I started to do this and now my Clickbump SEO plugin is telling me 'SEO! Suggests: Add an image with keyword phrase in alt text.' So now I am confused.

Anyone got any feedback on this?

I always put the keyword i'm targeting in the alt text and it works good for me. So far.

Yes, but I am asking about the format. With the dashes or without.

You can remove the (-) because it will be added automatically. Search engine look at any url with spaces and automatically adds the dashes. :-) Click bump is awesome but sometimes it like to over optimize.
