I am little bit confused are you looking for a topic as forum to your blog or you're looking for a forum CMS? If CMS I suggest VB like the one used here at warrior. If you want free PHPBB is fine I guess

![]() VB as I understand it requires you to purchase a licence which at this stage I would prefer not to do so your idea about PHPBB may be what I will need to look at. Being a non-techie person and never installed anything with a database do you know what it requires? ![]() Cheers Misty | |

phpbb would be an easy install. All you do is create the db. Write down the db name, username, password, etc. and then run the phpbb installer. Then you are done. From there all you have to do is configure the features. Other than that there is a wordpress plugin for forums. I think it is called wpforums. I don't know if it is any good or not, but it is supposed to put a forum right in your blog, without having the user leave the blog to log into a forum. |

Another free alternative you might want to check out is MyBB. I've used it for a couple of forums, and as long as you don't need a huge amount of plugins it's graet.

The problem with that approach is most hosts don't keep their scripts up to date. Besides, eventually you may want to use something that is not in your host's fantastico list. So you might as well learn to create a MySQL db now, and install a PHP Web application. It will save you a lot of time and money by learning this.

Hi Michael, Alan and Lakshay Thank you for taking the time to respond to my question ![]() I will look at the options you have presented me with. Lakshay, my name is Viv I am so used to using my username that I don't even think of using my real name! I am with a GoDaddy reseller and there is no cPanel and no fantastico but thank you for the suggestion.A wordpress plugin would be my preference so I will check out your blog Alan. As always, the Warriors have come up trumps ![]() Cheers **VIV** |
