You are on the right web site for finding clients. You can post an ad in Warriors For Hire

Do you know about making an article SEO friendly?
Make sure you have some samples of articles.

Have you applied at odesk for writing articles?

I was going to say exactly the same thing. Here is the perfect place to advertise your services. Make sure to educate yourself on keyword density and that type of thing though.

If you want to offer article writing services in English, you need to improve your writing skills.

Vishal1, Have you searched all the threads on article writing? There are a great many posts about the subject, which I think you'll find helpful.

I would recommend reading those and then responding to posts to develop a relationship with other Warriors.

I wouldn't recommend that you post a WSO right away, but as Gail suggested, work on improving your writing skills.

Also, I just came across a great free WSO offered by Warrior Thom Lancaster that I think you would find very useful.

          Hope this helps.

BTW, can anyone tell me how to create a customized URL so that the coding doesn't appear, but rather a hyperlinked title? Looks so much more elegant.

It would take a REALLY long post to go in depth with those answers!

    But to start-

You can find clients at a number of freelancing websites (including here, at the Warriors for Hire section). Just know that if you use this section of the Warrior Forum you have to pay $20 to list your service.

You can also find clients here by putting a link in your signature going to your website or service offered here on the Warrior Forum. Then anytime you post in the forum, your link is there pointing people towards your service.

If you want to get started for free, you can try sites like Craigslist, elance.com, Fiverr- there's a lot of them. Just Google something like "freelance writing" or "freelancing jobs"

As far as dos and donts- this can be a huge list, but just to get started

    Do:
    -Provide samples of your work
    -Grammar and spelling check
    -Try to over-deliver
-Research the topic you're talking about
-Use speech to text software (to write faster than just typing)

    Don't
-Expect clients to find you without any work on your part
-Limit yourself to only online clients (offline businesses need articles, press releases, etc.)
-Be unafraid to raise your prices as demand increases (it's a LOT nicer to get paid $10 each for 10 articles than $5 each for 20 articles!) Get paid what you're worth- there are lots of business owners who pay for good quality.

Again, there's tons of information out there, so I recommend reading a bit all over the net then jumping in. You'll learn as you go, too!

Freelance writing is a big subject. You can google it. Suite 101.com is an excellent place for writers to grow. Also, Hubpages.com an Squidoo.com. Set up a wesite or blog. Put your articles on there and go to Ezine Articles and write and submit to them and you will get good exposure in time. There are some excellent freelance writing sites . You should not have a hard time finding them. By the way try also Newbiewriters.com. Good luck to you!

This is my first post here but I chose to answer your question because I have experience as a writer. I've been doing it for a few years and am transitioning in to internet marketing, thus my membership here.

How I would get started if I had to start from scratch today:

      1. Pay attention to how you write.

I say this because it is very important, even when you post in forums. I'm assuming you aren't a native English speaker? Are you going to try to get clients here on the forum and begin writing in English?

If so, I would go and clean up all your posts. I see incomplete sentences, every single word in your initial post in this thread is in caps, grammatical errors... this doesn't make for good advertising of what you can do.

      2. Build a Portfolio

Choose a site - it doesn't matter which. Something like Hubpages, Infobarrel, or Associated Content would work. Make a list of all the topics you like to write about and write about two articles per topic. Once you have 20-30 articles posted, you have an adequate portfolio to show people of what you can do.

Show potential clients these articles when they ask.

      3. Look for clients.

People say to start looking for clients here. I don't have experience with this because I am new. What I did was choose a bid site - I wound up with Rentacoder (now vworker.com) but something like elance.com or odesk.com could work too. Keep bidding until you get your first gig. It gets easier after that.

      4. Don't give up.

I placed a lot of bids before I got my first assignment. I think it was at least 30 but maybe more like 50. Just keep doing it. Even if things look bleak just look at it as a law of numbers. Eventually someone will hire you - just keep refining your bid style and working on your writing.

Welcome to the forum! Always be willing to learn how to write better, the better you are at writing professionally, the more you will be worth. I suggest learning how to be an awesome copywriter especially, it is a different style but there is money in good sales copy writing.

Uh, yeah. Don't start every word in a sentence with a caps. Learn to caps the "I"

Don't bold when posting on forums.

When marketing yourself as a writer, don't make posts like you just did. Make sure you spell properly - IE the word helpful.

    Add proper punctuation.

Or is all this the style of writing in your country?

The biggest thing is always putting your best foot forward. Based on your OP, I would not hire you. You have to remember that potential clients are everywhere so when you're posting anything in public ensure that your spelling in correct, your grammar and punctuation are correct and you don't do something as annoying as posting in all bold with every word capitalized. Good luck to you. There are tons of freelance sites out there and you might want to do some free writing just to get some reviews from actual clients.
