How to Get Automated Notices from Craigslist?

I made a local posting on cl yesterday looking for another helper and I got replies within 15 minutes from about 20 people in all parts of the country. These guys must have some kind of software that either auto-replies or sends them an email that a posting has been made in that section and location. Any idea what that kind of software is? I'm NOT interested in auto-posting 50 times a day. I'm just trying to pick some kind of following software so that I'm notified when other people make postings in certain areas of cl.

    You can get autoreplies on posts from a number of sites. You can google "Craigslist notify."

    I've used craigslistbuddy.com and another I forgot right now. There are some smartphone apps too.

    You don't need a software. You can even set up Google Alerts. Just use right keywords. I don't have Google alerts for CL, but i use it with WF and some other forums in Google. It works...

      I've been working with google alerts for a long time for various keywords and phrases so that always works great. But to target craigslist specifically through alerts, I used:

      "whateverkeyword" site:http://whatever city.craigslist.org

      ...where I have the setting set to send once per day. This works fine when I set it up the alert but then I don't get any the next day. And, I know for a fact my topic is entered in cl daily.

      Anyone see anything wrong with that setting? Or have you experienced the same? Is CL in cahoots with google alerts to prevent this type of automated notification or something?
