Help! Site Disappeared From Keyword Results

I've been building my site for about 2 months now and it was gradually creeping up the search engine ranks. I think it first started on page 45 of google and eventually went up to as high as page 8. However, recently, I tried googling my site using the keyword and it has completely vanished!

I've been consistently building backlinks to my site via article submission sites, social bookmarking sites, getting high PR links (like edu links), pinging the links, regularly posting new content to my site, posting new content on Youtube, posting stuff on Facebook and all that jazz.

I'm wondering if anyone on this forum can help me with this problem, which I will greatly appreciate it if someone did.

Just so you know, my site is in the signature and the keyword is "learn a language".

As long as a site:yourdomain search returns something you are probably not sandboxed (if there really is a supplemental index) and may be experiencing normal fluctuation. I did learn that Panda is not a general algorithm tweak, but rather a processor intensive filtering they only run every 4 to 6 weeks, these passes have been dramatic for low originality sites.

For my light weight ranking checks I use the free eval version of SEO Power Suit (Mac or PC) which will check the first 100 results for a list of keywords.

my site disappeared twice, then 7 days later(each time), it came back.

my experience is if the site content have been increased a lot in a short time, or each page of site changed, the site will disappear. i don't think it is penlayty. the reason is just like google feel NOT FAMILIAR with you as before, "he" just need more time to recongnize you. you will not be shown in the search result untill "he" become familiar with you.

according my experience, 7 days is my time frame that google reknow me, then my site come back to search engine as before.

there is no need to be panic, just keep doing task as before. get high quality backlinks and add new unique content.

Thanks for the replies. I hope that my site does return back into the regular search results sometime soon. It just feels like Google has somehow caught me out building "unnatural" edu backlinks and posting lots of content within a short period of time.

The trick is to keep it natural and don't do too much in a short period of time.

I've seen this happen with many different sites and they almost always come back in a week or so. Most of the time they come back with much better rankings.

I use Market Samurai to check my rankings across various keyword phrases.

I had this probem plague me with 3 of my sites. Guess what it was? Not masking all my affiliate links.

Take care of what ads you put in your sidebar, some of them can cause pages to get deindexed by Google or to appear on page 25 on searches. If they have ? in the code, apparently Googlebots don't like it.

Otherwise, it could be temporary, in which case keep building links, content and submitting articles. You'll come back stronger.

What if my affiliate links are redirects instead of masked links (which btw they are)? Will this cause pages to be deindexed?
