I purchased traffic on Fiverr and my Awstats went up but my site counters didn't, why?

So I purchased some traffic from Fiverr and my Awstats have increased but my onsite web counter hasn't. Is there anyway to fool Awstats into thinking it has received traffic? I know my counters increase each time I refresh the page. I don't see any increase on those.

    I'm not sure who you bought your traffic from, but AWstats is kinda notorious for showing bots as well as human visitors

    There are other programs that work better like Google Analytics (if you don't mind the Big G- which already knows everything anyways- knowing what your traffic is doing)

    Most of that purchased traffic comes from redirects, often showing your website in an iframe. So the traffic appears as coming from a single IP.

    One thing you will learn in a short time is not to buy traffic. It is usually worthless and can cause trouble.
    Those adsense ads you have on your sites, those will not be there for much longer once Google catches on. They will ban you account for this.

    Because the traffic was bot generated that sent http requests to your pages and didn't actually load them. Or maybe it was from a single IP as someone above suggested.

    But why would anyone "buy traffic" anyways?

      I haven't made anything because I really don't see any legit traffic. I think it is all bot traffic however here is what they promised.

    My experience - Awstats show my site has about 100 visitors per day. But my stats from StatSurfer (wp pluggin) show I have negligible traffic (less than 10).

    However I still managed to have affiliate sales (Amazon) of almost $200 a month.

    I tend to believe Awstats although I know that if I use Google Analytics I will have more reliable traffic stats but just not comfortable to let them too much.
