Downloadable Software vs Website

I have a application that I'd like to either build into a downloadable software or a website. I'm interested to hear people's opinions about which one would be more profitable (and why). I think I could charge more for a piece of downloadable software, but I'd open my application up to a lot more people by making it a website (wouldn't have to worry about operating systems, etc). I also realize that support would probably be easier with a website (though I don't know for sure). Any thoughts are welcome.

It depends on what your app does, & the perceived value, if its a tool to help people make money or traffic generation ( an evergreen product) both methods are a good option, you could use both, test which one works the best.

If its an app people are going to use a lot on a regular basis you could make it into a script and make it a membership site to make a recurring income.

Or if you don't want the deal with a membership site make it into software, list on clickbank or as a WSO with WSO PRO and offer an affiliate program.

Again it all depends on what your app is.

Hope this has given you a couple of ideas.

Website more powerful & viral, also get benefit with others opportunities to make more income, like ads that related with your download.
