Hi Guys, I found this article on sitepoint and thought I'd share it go here: SitePoint 12 Ways to Keep Sane While Working from Home Personally, working effectively from home is a skill I have mastered purely from being a workaholic so I'm effective simply because I can't help but work no matter where I am, I do work with the TV on and still get stuff done (not all the time, but most of the time I do). I get lazy when I'm at home, that's for sure, but when I get a brainwave, I just hit the computer and type away or build pages etc... My biggest problem would have been working with the family around, but I just drown out any noises and distrations and keep focused. I'm good at zoning out anything that takes me off my work, but I know I may still be missing some tricks. So any suggestions you have about effectivey working from home would be appreciated. In the past I worked wholly from home, at the moment, I work out of my office which is 20-30 minutes drive from my home, but I may eventually switch back to working full time from home, if I do, I'm sure some of your suggestions will come in handy. So thanks in advance for posting what works for you! Cheers, Kunle |

Great tips there....For me it's all about doing what's needed to be done even when you don't feel like doing it.

This is actually something I'll be worrying about next week. For now, I'm planning on doing an Eben Pagan style work block -- 50min focused, 10min break, 50 min focused, 10min break, 20min focused. One problem I have is getting distracted with forum/email/latest shockwave game, etc. so learning to focus is going to be a key to my being successful with IM this year. |

I usually prepare a check list of all my works and get them done one by one.. it was difficult to stick to my check lists initially but later it worked for me very well. I would recommend this probably an old method but effective one.
