amazon affiliates - do longer reviews increase conversion rates?

I am wondering if I have a really good 500 word or 1000 word product review written which will have better conversion rates. I'm wondering what you guys have found with your amazon sites. Do the longer reviews have better conversion rates? Thanks in advance

Yeah, I always look to go with 800+ for my reviews. I also look to add supporting pages without any actual sales content, but with how to's or informational tips and advice. Then internally link to some of my posts.

With me, longer reviews decrease conversion rate, people read longer and click more but they do not buy. So conversion rate about 1-2%
With short reviews( less than 800 words), people just skim it and click to aff. links, I think they are fast buyers, the conversion rate about 6-8%.
    Hope this help.

Remember to keep your audience in mind when you write your reviews. I once reviewed a page someone had listed and the review was over 2,000 words long - ridiculous. The longer your review, the harder it will be to keep the attention of your readers - especially if you don't break it up into readable chunks.

I'd think longer reviews are better for higher-end products, but keep it pretty short for anything else.

I get between 25% and 30% conversion rate on Amazon with no reviews at all.

(Hint) You don't need any reviews if you think like your visitors.

If you have a serious buyer on the line they will want something short, simple and to the point. Many are on the point of making a purchase and just want to confirm that their choice is justified.
