Conversion after the 'buy' button

I'm having a little trouble with my first sales page and I was wondering if anyone might be able to shed some light.

I'm running an iFrame ad and banner for my sales page which gets about 10% ctr and from that about 10% are hitting the buy button. But I'm getting very little conversions from people hitting buy.

My sales page layout is video, call to action, copy then another call to action. The price is in a large h3 tag right above the button which is an animated download now with paypal/credit cards below it. 90% of the CTR is right below the video.

The buy button is currently going to a second page which gives them a further $5 off in exchange for a testimonial. I've been using this mainly so I can track the ctr with pretty link. I have ran it without this second page as well but the conversions seemed worse.

Payment processor is paypal, its a one off payment and I've tested three different price points.

Any idea where I'm going wrong? Am i not giving enough info or value perhaps? Should I use the sales page as a pre-frame and move the copy to the second page perhaps?

Any and all advice much appreciated.

It's difficult to judge without seeing the actual page. Please send me a PM with the URL and I'll take a look.

do you mean to say... 1 out of 100 is hitting the buy button... but conversions are further less... now there could be several reasons for that... maybe the page breaks.... or maybe the visitor finds the price a bit too high... so you can say about 10% conversions in total.. that means out of every 1000 visits of potential buyers you are able to sell of a product?...

Drop me a PM, and I will analyze whats exactly happening...
    Thanks!

No about 10 in 100 is hitting the buy button, but yes the conversions are much, much less.

The page doesn't break if you mean 404 or something I've tested several times and not just from my own network. The price is clearly shown in a H3 tag above the button then again on the second page.

But yes I've sold a few, just not nearly as much as I was hoping but this is my first attempt at a product/sales page. I appreciate the offer but I don't really want to be giving the link out.

Got the PM and looked at the site.

The sales letter is very professional and well done.

    Here is my first idea:

You are targeting people that are playing video games..
.. and now you try to sell a solution (basically a strategy guide for a certain game).

I have no clue really about video games and which are free etc.

But basically you try to sell something to people that are not in a buying mode.

That means your conversions will be very poor and you will get a lot of visitors that are curious but they wont't buy.

All I want to say: there seems to be nothing wrong with you or your product or your sales page.

    Hope this makes sense.

    PS:

    Looked at the page again:

One thing that could be done to increase conversions:
You only offer a solution, but you do not mention the button.

There is a reason why people buy strategy guides. As I said above I am not too familiar with video games itself but if you find the right buttons and use them your conversions will go through the roof.

The easiest way to find out is to test. Use Google conversion optimizer to test different version (free).

Possible buttons in your case: pride, show-off. Something like "Imagine how everybody would envy you when you are showing off your winning screen on Facebook to all your friends".

I wrote "winning screen" as I have no clue how you call that in that particular game or whether you score gold or whatever.

here is a dumb question - but I do have a possible point

have you made it very clear how much this thing costs?

I HATE HATE HATE HATE not to know what something costs and typically it is

1 - not on the page at all which makes me angry
    or
2 - is way down the page and I have to scroll and scroll which I hate to do

but there is a buy button up at the top of the page

so I click on the button to find out the cost - I don't click on it to BUY

since I don't know what your page looks like, this may not be the case

but, you did give me a nice place to vent

Really appreciate you taking a look at the page.

I know it's not a 'desperate niche' but Russel Brunson claims to make four figures from that potato gun site, and this has a lot more traffic than that.

I actually do use something similar to that in the video - It even starts with "imagine your friends faces when..."

It's not in the copy but since most of the clicks are going in after the video I didn't see the point I guess.

Yes the price is obvious, it's in a H3 tag above the first button and mentioned again later.
