I am completely new to IM, but ready to work.

I'm 21 going on 22 in a couple weeks and i believe I need a change. Going to from university to community college to dead end jobs I don't want to work for the rest of my life. I know I am smart and have a lot I could offer the world, but too many interests and none I feel passionately enough to give up the other dreams I may have had.

I've seen a few peers making money, some even good money at this. I have tried my hand at network marketing like Cutco to Vialus. They seem to work for some people but I didn't feel they were for me. Mainly, because I don't want to sell products to people that I know.

I'm computer savvy enough to learn this and I have a few good people helping me start up at this. I have an idea of what I will have to do and what type of work I will be doing, but i am still a level 1 noob, lol.

If anyone has any advice for me or questions that could help me understand what I'd be good at in this field that will be greatly appreciated.

The only reason you can fail at “Internet Marketing” (or whatever) is if you stop taking action/ stop trying.

Anyone can make a 6-figure income if they want to.

well you are just some months elder to me... first of all IM is not for everyone... second money is the essential evil, so instead of learning everything, you should leave that to time, time will teach you loads... if you are looking for visible outcomes, start offerring services, things what you can do... some can write... some can create videos.... some do nice banner stuff... some can do SEO.... some have nice tricks to share.... etc etc etc.... sell'em, this will not only earn you quick, but also... give a part of insight of what the person ordering from you is trying to do!.... makes you learn loads.

    Hope that helps!

Im glad you discovered internet marketing because there is money to be made. You are young and need to make money while you are at college. Try reading about affiliate marketing or blogging because both can be profitable and are easy businesses to start.

As long as your willing to work, and learn on a continuous basis you should eventually do well at internet marketing.

    Ask yourself?

    1. What interests me
    2. What type of products I would like to promote and sell online
    3. Buy a keyword rich domain name
    4. Start a self hosted Wordpress blog

Promote the hell out of it by sending traffic from all angles.

    5. And most important lesson is taking action and never giving up while continually learning and getting better and better at internet marketing. The cash should come in more and more the better you get at it.

But be warned it does take a lot of work especially in the beginning. Good luck to you!

Join the War Room and forget about ebooks. Many ebooks are old rehashed stuff. The WR is dynamic. It is reasonably priced. And if you can't find something there to get you off and running then you just aren't trying (or even breathing for that matter).

I have been on this board over 3 years. I wish I had joined earlier. Seriously you can take it like a degree in IM. Go for it and let me know what you think.

The only other requirement is to take action. Go for.

    John -

Brad here. For a newbie to IM - the choices are huge. For my part I would suggest you spend some time researching the areas you are keen on learning. If affiliate marketing and internet sales is your area - there are loads of programs out there.

To do this research successfully - number one rule - put your wallet away! At least until you have built an understanding of the area.

The really honest trainers will "over deliver" time and again. You can find a number of free ebooks and podcasts that will help a lot in further learning. Chris Farrell has a great ebook as does Yaro Starak -- all free.

I have a series of posts that may be useful as well. You are welcome to check them out. Our most recent post on Commission Junction will be useful for you long term.

Many marketers are arguing that physical product sales on the internet is growing! But to be successful you need a good bedrock of knowledge.

Last suggestion - pick your trainers carefully. Once you find one that meets your needs - stay focused and learn. Don't be distracted by every new shiny object that pops up in your email.

I hold Chris Farrell in high regard. Many others do as well. He has been number one on IM Report Card dot com for several years. Another key player is Yaro Starak - blogging.

Check out our blog and see if it is helpful to your search. I am always interested in your comments and opinion as you continue your research.

If we are helpful - let us know and we will be glad to do whatever we can. What goes around comes around you know.

Best of luck - Cheers !

You have a unique opportunity here to be so fresh, before being brainwashed by all the easy money promises.

You can brainwash yourself before someone else brainwashes you, train your mind, there is NO easy button, there is no magic formula. You say your ready to work, and work you will, if you can manage not to fall victim to the latest product launches and wso's while just focusing on one task at a time, your way ahead of 80% of new IM'ers.

Chris Farrell Membership is indeed the best place to start..

      Good luck,

PS. Your still young, you have plenty of time
to start making money, for me 25 is where
still living with your parents is embarassing,
that gives you a solid 3 years to learn and
      perfect your business decision

I agree with the post above about finding ebooks to read. But..., be careful. You can easily lose your shirt buying ebooks, courses, videos, etc. Find some info that's clear and understandable, then follow it. Sometimes the 'gurus' make things 'as clear as mud', causing you to want to buy more stuff. Resist this urge.

      John,

Welcome! As many have said, find what works for you. I would start by thinking about what you like and don't like doing. Not what your passionate about (that's different), but what you actually want to do on a daily basis.

For example, if you hate writing, don't start a blog. If you love graphic design, DO start created websites.

If you're looking for super easy, step by step guides to jump right in and start making some money, I'd recommend AdSense or Amazon sites. They're easy to make, cheap to maintain, and you can do everything yourself or buy them premade. You will learn SO much in the process of making your first site. By a cheap and popular WSO and follow it exactly.

      Just my thoughts.

Oh, and join the War Room now.

Find a need and fill it.

What do you like to do? Look into that area. Find message boards in your area of interest, read what the members are saying and asking for.

Can you provide what they need? Can you find what they need and sell it to them?

That is the way to make money. Find a need and fill it.

Find something that you love to do because you might be doing it for a long time so might as well enjoy the journey.

        Yes and no-

The cool thing about the War Room is that it's basically like a free WSO section. People post a lot of great software, systems, guides, and other stuff for other War Room members to use and learn from.

But it's not exactly "here's how to build a website, here's how to do affiliate marketing", etc.

Since you are new to IM, I would really suggest hanging in these threads for a while and learning the basics of the IM world. It's not that easy to say I am ready but is not yet totally familiar with the IM business. You need to learn the basics, by reading threads, asking for some advises and spends familiarizing what and how to do it.
As what most warriors have said, study first the basics before you could say that you are ready. IM business is not instant money, in the context that most people who fail has the idea that there is easy money in IM. Easy to say, but requires hard work and commitment to achieve.
You don't need to try, you need to do something. Trying is different from doing. And always remember, never give up on failures and keep a positive outlook in life.

Hi I am new to IM as well and my advice is to don't get caught up in the hype that there is some type of magic solution to this. Find all the free info you can and study it. Also find some free info on building an email list of buyer. Keep in mind that a list does not have to be just IM. It can be almost anything like weight lose, golf what whatever comes to mind. The trick is finding people that are interested in the things you promote get their email on your list so you can promote offers to them.

Start by thinking of what you are interested in whether its games or weight loss. Something you have personal experience in is best to sell because you are an expert due to your personal experience.

And do some research online so you can understand what internet marketing is. Choose a product there many places you can start out with and will def help you get on your feet like Click bank but personally i would rather Pay dot com so that your ensured that you are getting payed. If someone buys through pay pal with your Click bank link you wont get a commission so Pay dot com is the way to go.

There are many ways to market your product which can be found on many sites and articles. Just Google " how to market my website effectively" You will learn something I'm telling you.

I am still reading up on the basics of the IM game

here are my lists of interests that i think i would excel at so far in order:

    social media marketing
    affiliate marketing
    display advertisting
    SEM & SEO

I dont hate writing but it seems the blogs would be very tedious and hard to maintain and keep up with so idk if SEO is for me, if i have a good understanding of what you do in SEO

but i am very interested in Adsense and Amazon which i saw was mentioned here. Is it really the fastest way to earn money as a beginner?

also there is a MLM thing i was doing before this, selling weight loss and health products that seem to be legit. they say to be a registered promoter i need to either invest $49, $499, or $999

I would stay away from MLM or anything else that requires a lot of money upfront such as PPC or display advertising. Spend your money on tools such as hosting, a good wordpress theme, and an autoresponder- and then do what others have told you and find something that works for you.

Every "strategy" in IM is really just different methods of 3 things:

      Valuable content
      Traffic generation
      Conversion/monetization

So, those are the 3 things you need to learn how to do no matter what method you're going to try.

    @ OP

List the things you are good at and could teach to a beginner.

Visit Clickbank.com and take a look at some of the offers there.

Make a pdf product ( there is a pdf creator on this site which is free
you install it as a printer and select it instead of your printer when
you want to make a pdf from your word processor document such as
    notepad, wordpad, msworks etc )

Get a domain website for a sales and delivery page and see how it goes.

THEN ... once you have an understanding of how that setup works
you can figure out that you should sell things people are buying -
    - weight loss, financial, etc - products and you'll do great.

Sorry, but I have to disagree, it is a "discussion forum" :p

I believe your doomed without a plan, make a plan and stick to it. But figuring out everything IM has to offer by using a 'trial and error' method, you'll have grey hair before your 23rd b-day.

I am definitely Not a noob (been full time online for 3+ years, earn 20K+ a month) and I STRONGLY recommend you take what short cuts you can. That means learn and DO, learn and do, learn and do, in a perpetual cycle. Don't wait until you know everything before you start. and use software tools to speed the process

Be prepared to make a few mistakes. Don't worry about it

But equally, you first need to LEARN from someone you trust, so you don't go repeating the same mistakes that a thousand others have.

Just don't keep spending all your time learning, learning, learning. It is irrelevant unless you PROVE it to yourself that it works

If you want any further help then PM me and I will give you a copy of our Realistic Revenue (Step-by-step instructions to a realistically-attainable income) course which will retail for $97 when launched in a few weeks. It outlines everything from start to finish of what we DO to get to that 20K+ a month income. I don't claim to have all the perfect answers - I can only show the way we did it to get to that money. If you want, let me know.

I will give you a free copy because I am feeling generous as I am on holiday/vacation again

    * Daniel Deus
    .
PS. Keep your finger OFF the 'Easy' button. There is no 'Easy' button.

Sure, there are tools and automation software to simplify things and save a whole lot of time - but there still needs to be brain work putting it all together

Hey at 30 y.o I am feeling old now.

21 is such a great age. i will be honest and tell you that you have much to learn. But dont let that get in your way.

    Just follow this simply procedure.

    1) Come here and learn lots

    2) Implement what you learn here.

    3) Some things will work, other things you will FAIL miserably with.

    4) Write down what works and makes you money

    5) Do more of that, and upscale that and outsource.

    6) Then come back and read more.

I am pretty good at marketing. But this forum is gold. There is alot better info in here and WSO section then some of those big $97 ebooks. I owe alot to the info in here and quit my job many years ago.

The thing is that too many people in here, read and dont implement. They think they will get off them bum tomorrow and do all this. Dont fall into that trap. Be a consistant student. LEARN.....IMPLEMENT.....LEARN.....IMPLEMENT...

Then I will be the first to buy your product, when you teach us how you made your first $100,000 online.

    Good luck.
