How Do I Find Out the RSS Feed URL of my Site?

10 replies
Hi

It's all there in the title!

How do I find out what the RSS feed URL of my site is? I've clicked on it and looked at the properties which just shows the site URL.

Is it something I need to activate or something? I'm still fairly new to Wordpress and learning bit by bit.

Also, how do I change the RSS button on wordpress? I have a new one to replace it with.

Thanks

Mary

    Hi Mary,

    Is your site a blog or a static site? If it is a blog, typically an rss feed URL will look something like this:

    yoursite.com/feed

    If it is a static site, then you will need to grab some software to syndicate your articles.

    Hope this helps...

      Not sure if this is correct, but go right click on the RSS All Comments box in the right column of your blogger blog, then click on view page info.

      From there click on the RSS icon at the top and there is your RSS blog link

      Hope this helps

    If you click on the RSS icon you should see the feed address in your browser window. It will look something like ww.myblogaddress.feed.

    The rss button should be in your images file. You can upload the new button and give it the same name as the old one and that should work. You may have to work with the CSS if the buttons are different in size.

    If you need more details, just ask.

    Steve

    p.s. Your blog actually has multiple feeds for the content, the comments, etc.

    Sorry, missed this one. Basically, just image source your button and wrap it with the url of your feed.

    Hi

    Ldimilo - it's a blog and when I look at proerties it simply has mysite.com
    Your next bit -
    "Sorry, missed this one. Basically, just image source your button and wrap it with the url of your feed." meant nothing to me. How do I image source it with my feed when I don't know my feed?

    Steve - From what I remember you're learning all this stuff as well so are obviously further on than me. I don't have the 'feed' showing though after the url and I don't know if there's a way of testing it.

    As regards your p.s. - I didn't know that. What I want to do is submit my RSS feed url to sites so they can automatically add my posts to their sites - is this something you do?

    Benchlegs - I did that but I get mysite.com

    Thanks everyone

    Mary

    Mary,

    What's the URL of your site? We can help you better if we know that.

    And yes, I've been studying RSS and Social Bookmarking pretty much full time since November.

    Your feed is http:// loseweightresources.com/feed.

    The image is found in the style sheet under headings>div #rssfeeds like this...

    #rssfeeds {
    width:200px;
    height: 43px;
    position: absolute;
    padding-top: 21px;
    top:40px;
    right:22px;
    background: url(images/rssicon.png) right bottom no-repeat;
    behavior: url(http://loseweightresources.com/wp-content/themes/flexibility/iepngfix.htc);
    color: #D7CAB5;
    }

    Hope that helps.
