53,000 indexed pages blog still useful?

Hello all,

I own a blog with 53,000 pages indexed in Google, and growing. One visit per day at this moment. I have used a backlinking service, but it does not seem reliable, as after one month, visits go to near zero again.

I am looking for some advice to get the most profit from this blog. I even have been thinking of converting it into a "curation blog".

What do you think?

Thanks so much for your help.

What is it ... an autoblog? If so, 53,000 pages of scraped content doesn't add much value. No traffic and revenue with that many pages tells you something about the content. Either no one is interested in it or Google has it buried deep in the serps.

A curated blog requires writing by you. It is a combination of an excerpt from another source with a link back to the source and a blurb by you contextualizing the content. It is a good model for a blog. I have two that I curate and they have far fewer pages, but get good traffic for blogs that I have not even promoted.

Yes, it is an autoblog, and completely agree with you does not add any value. But as when I built some backlinks they seemed to bring some life to it and it was making $2-$3 per day with adsense, it made me believe it could have some possibilities.

This is why I was thinking of turning some posts into curated content. I don´t have any experience building curated content, but I would like to try it.

I really like curated blogs. Like I said ... it's basically find an excerpt or two and post them with links back to source and then expand on the content with your own opinion/facts/ideas.

I make sure that the part that I contribute is at least 50% of the content of each post. That puts a lot of unique content into the blog that should get some traffic going if it's interesting to readers and you promote it.

PM Paul Myers... Ask for the affiliate link he sent me. Pony up the $60.00 & get trucking.
